I’ve had one for 4 months. Great smart kettle. Flimsy lid but otherwise quite decent.

Cut because I bought this for $59.

    • Same, 100% true!

Tried to buy. Kogan rejected all three of my CBA card accounts with some random message about "contact your bank". When I queried them (I use these card daily, everywhere) their customer service team made up some nonsense about "extra security algorithms", and wouldn't fix it even after I proved my cards are working fine. Never in my life have I encountered a customer service team so committed to complicating a customer simple transaction, with no focus on customer outcomes.

I find a smart kettle to be a solution looking for a problem

    • ^ has never had a smart kettle.

Had one for a few months now. No problems so far other than the lid being a little finicky.

Tip: if you find that you get the brown calcium marks on the inside metal base after a couple of months, just boil a small amount of white vinegar in it…. Dissolves the marks away in seconds!

    • Citric acid should work as well (minus the smell of vinegar)

    • Diluted or pure?

      • +1

I used pure vinegar. Rinsed it out afterwards.. No problem with smell/taste

  • Awesome deal for Kogan First members. Just one problem. I think it’s embarrassing to have friends see you have a kettle with Kogan plastered on it!

Got to work on your need for external validation…

    • Get new friends

    • I live in a ex display home and I’ve filled my house with Kogan and Kmart junk. But it’s my house!

    • A bit of WD40 removes the Kogan branding on the kettle!

  • Target has one for $49, I think K-Mart is coming out with one soon. This is cheaper tho, but honestly Kogan products always seem like they have issues or cheap to me. $30 tho!

    • Which Target one is $49 with smart home integration? :) Got a link?

  • Does it work without use of the app, press of a button or you have to use the app to turn it on?

    • +2

It has a touch capacitive button on the top you can double tap to turn on without voice, but the Google Assistant feature is the main reason to choose this over other glass kettles.

      • Great thanks….

  • Last time I made another account for free trial & got it for $36/delivered. It's been fairly good over Google Home & have never had any issues with the lid.

  • It's a kettle. You use it to boil water….
    Out of control I'm afraid…

  • Mine shipped 20 min ago.

    • Yeh mine to, much better than the mid nov expected shipping date.

  • how to remotely add the water? is it connected like the dishwasher?

  • Sold out.

  • How noisy are these? Fell for a metal one for the schmick look, & ended up giving it away because I needed to SHOUT to be heard over the top of it operating and went back to my much quieter cheapy plastic one.

    • It's really quiet, it's hard to tell when it's finished from the next room.

  • back to $79.99 now :(

  • Delivered today, no lid lissues with it but maybe that comes later? Can press the lid half way down and it opens.

    • Received mine today, I'd be spewin if i paid $160 for this lol. So far for $29 it's a solid buy. Cheers for the post.

      • Got mine today and was leaking at the bottom sadly.

    • Yeah it happens over time. The rubber sealant for the lid wears out quick from being heated up and cooled down. Eventually the lid won't easily open.

  • Update: I like mine.

  • Received yesterday, it connected up to SmartLife within 60 seconds and was turning it off and on via Alexa by voice. So setup was simple. Woke up this morning and gave the "Alexa, good morning" command which does a dozen things and came out to a just boiled kettle

It's very quiet when boiling, the blue leds are a nice touch, the temp readout on the handle is useful to know the temp of the water at any time. Quality is fine for a $29 smart kettle.

  • Damn missed out again, just signed up for kogan first still showing up at $79.99

  • Got mine today. I assumed it could heat water to certain temperatures to make different teas, etc. But it's only the trigger for keep warm. Would have to make a routine or script to allow it to heat to a certain temperature and then shut off. Anyway it's seems to be decent for the money and is super quiet in comparison to my Breville. Build quality does seem to fit the price though. No German made Schott glass here, just the cheap and uneven low clarity glass made in China.
