Other retailers selling for $75. Not sure how that colour would go in my kitchen…..
Should probably/possibly be better quality than the Kmart & Big W home brands kettles selling for similar price

6-8 of this at my kitchen
Jokes aside this is plastic vs the stainless in the Breville. That Breville is also quite heavy though iirc, heavier than their other stainless models.
The inside is plastic right?
According to choice mag it is plastic
The lid inside is still plastic though. This seems like an issue with 95% of kettles.
@RedSky: Why is it an issue? I assume theres a good reason if most are designed that way.
@WowBargain: Probably a simpler design but if your concerns is microplastic leakage from plastic then it doesn't really matter if it's lid of the cylinder. I have one with plastic lid as well, was thinking of replacing it.
@WowBargain: In my experience the taste of plastic kettles is always really noticeable in a bad way, even without knowing whether there's a health concern.
This got me boiling up inside
I take it you're too hot to handle?
Nah, that's just the pot calling the kettle black.
Surely the lining that comes in contact with the water is not plastic…?!
No deal then. SS or glass for me
just did a quick lookup on this, its a good price butttttttt…. people say the handle falls off and its slow to boil water.
Seems like you definitely did "a quick lookup" because you just looked at the one-star google reviews and saw one guy say his handle fell off, and two people said it boils slowly out of 42 reviews, average 4.6 star….
Not exactly a concrete conclusion there Sherlock. Overall the reviews looks just fine, especially at this price point.
Yeah I gave it a crack at $34 delivered. Replacing an el cheapo kmart unit thats had many years of service.
@Avacardooo Rayy Mee: Good thing it's not plastic then. Will do.
@WowBargain: Great work detective, you provided an image of a different kettle with a attached lid not a "pull off lid" and saying its the same, it also looks completely different. but thats okay you can blame choice mag for your top quality research. 👍 but enjoy your plastic kettle.
@Avacardooo Rayy Mee: Hahaha, nice to see you dug a big deeper this time mate ;-)
Good point - didn't catch that they have a full product image set and then they've slapped on a photo of a random kettle lid at the end. I'd be happy to blame Choice mag for that one becasue that's highly unusual.
I'm happy even if it is plastic - much better than my current one and I'm not overly concerned about dying due to the composition of my kettle.
@WowBargain: But for $20, cant complain, im pretty sure it will be metal inside though.
With this deal, it's hard to miss out.
Well, some of them are built so the handle doesn’t fall off at all? Not very typical
Well cardboard's out.
No cardboard derivatives.
Thanks OP, took the drive.
I will never touch another sunbeam product again. They look good and the prices are good but when i first bought their products years ago, a kettle and a toaster, both of them failed in just a month’s worth of owning them. I remember the kettle I had, a black plastic thing came off from the inside. I googled it and apparently it was a common issue. Immediately returned them to myer and asked for refund.
Same. I bought their egg cooker and the nonstick coating wore off almost immediately.
The toaster has been great. Not sure about other products
Order placed 🙏
Perfect gift for the upcoming Bad Santa event at work! Thanks OP :)
Scored! Thanks so much, I have been eyeing this kettle for months, it’s so hard to find a dark blue kettle with slim profile. Now to see if this is actually better than my $10 kettle from Big W 😆
Don’t need one, but will go halves in shipping if someone orders one for Melbourne city or Doncaster pick up
I live in Doncaster. Did you wanna split shipping?
Thanks op. Got one.
If for help for anyone- have had a pink (matching set) one of these for about two years. Reliable, moderate boiling speed and little bell ding when boiled for about a minute that reminds me I had wanted a cup of tea.
I initially didn't like that it was plastic due to the lightweight nature, however now really appreciate that it isn't as heavy as some on the market.
Hope it helps :)
Thanks op bought one
Was going to buy this for my mum, but plastic inside is worrying me :(
