  • how much does the ink cost?

    • $59.95 for 1000 pages that's 6 cents per page.

      • My Samsung ML-2010 has 2500-3000 page toner cartridges (which are actually both toner and drum) and they only cost $45 for an OEM version (I haven't seen the Samsung branded toner cartridges sold for a while). I bought the printer for maybe $100 a few years ago. So far I haven't seen another printer that's as good value as it.

    • it's cheaper to buy a new printer which comes with a new toner and drum.

      • new printer only comes with a starter toner (700pages)
does give you a full drum so thats handy.

I've got the wireless version of this printer, it works great.
Just a tip to save money… Putting a sticker over the toner sensor will enable you to get the absolute maximum usage out of your toner.

  • Yay cheap ink.

No need for anything, jst get masking tape over 2 holes and unplug the cartirage and fill it up. done is 15 minutes. :)

oh and it comes at the cost of 0.007 cents a page…. and i bought 2 bottles of this…..ive used less than 1/4 and ive printed 5 600 pages books… so SUPER cheap :D

    • Bookmarked.

    • Bookmarking too.

I just came back from the office works website and saw this. I'm sure it wouldn't work too well but it's still pretty cool! http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Office-Supplie…

      • Meh, just keep a slab in the fridge, and you don't to wait a while between cans. :)

Also, if the software says your ink is running low, do the masking tape trick and it will last you another 6 months. (I'm not exaggerating either)

Oops just realised someone already posted it.

    • Thanks

    • $38/5000=$0.007=0.7c

    • How do you fill it? Do you drill a hole on the toner cartridge?

  • Positive for both the post and the comments above re maxing the ink toner.

  • Does anyone know if this does auto duplex printing?

    • Doubt it since my 2140 doesn't. It doesn't take that much effort for manual duplex though.

  • Can this be connected wirelessly?

  • Wow great deal on the ongoing costs. Thanks op and all for tips above.

They have also got this http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Pri… Multi Function mono laser printer for $84. Its about $130 cheaper then the next multi function laser printer. I just bought it for work and it is fantastic. It was also 59.95 for a 1000pg ink refill and $99 for a 2200pg.

  • Just bought the printer but ffs it doesn't come with the USB cable. Seriously?

Also the power cord is very short (1.5 metres).

    • I find the majority of laser printers, especially the cheaper ones, don't come with USB cables. I even noticed in the manual of the last Brother laser printer I bought it said it came with a cable everywhere except for Aus and NZ.

    • If you don't have A-B cable from the broken printer you threw out, or from elsewhere in your collection of spare cables, that's easy to fix, just buy one for just over a buck delivered from eBay.

      • Yea I switched the cable from the photocopier to this. It's just a matter of inconvience, even if it's as simple as buying it off eBay. When you buy a printer, you would expect to just plug and play, and it'll work fine.

  • they're selling them for $43.95 in store

  • it appears the online price is 43.97 as well

  • Just bought one today, couldn't be happier :) now to look for a decent inkjet with a CIS system (google time)
