Plug and Play. You do not need Xiaomi account to run this device.

Best review I could find aaaaaand no, thank you.
We have one running at our store and it's impressively good for the price. I'd admit the manufacturer didn't do a good job for their marketing materials.
watched the video, yea…..this is crap!!!!
Not sure what quality you are expecting for a $39 web camera. Tell us something comparable for the same price.
meh…selling crap for cheap doesn't make it a deal
@optusprime: I guess this camera / deal isn't for you then.
Off topic, but if anyone happens to have a Wyze camera (which looks like a Xiaomi XiaoFang but actually isn't) you can use a firmware update that turns it into a normal webcam
https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/31/21202022/wyze-firmware-up…
And ditto for GoPro users
This is interesting. I have a couple of those sitting around as I don't know how to make it work (It's a overseas model)
Could this firmware make it work? do you need a xiaomi account?
So I'm guessing that means it won't work with a XiaoFang?
There is no way this could be an official XIAOMI product, couldn't find it anywhere on XIAOMI official website, international or Chinese.
Look elsewhere
It's a Xiaomi Eco-system product. It will have Xiaomi label on it.
for god sake….. please don't put this logo on some random rubbish product…….
$32.99 delivered at Amazon.
Lovebay brand.
Doesnt almost all devices have cameras? Why do you need this?
Whats special.
Thanks..
If you are using a desktop PC or if your notebook camera sucks, this is for you.
Most brand name notebooks come with low end camera. How can I disagree with you? But it doesn't make this one a good buy :)
I rather to pay a bit more for a better one but that's only my opinion.
Yes, this is just like buying a PC. You might want a high-end one instead of a decent entry level one.
Thanks
Webcams have become more important recently, with the massive surge in working from home, virtual meetings etc.
Most desktop PCs don't have a built-in camera. A few laptops don't have one, and some that do have very poor cameras and/or microphones. It's not that hard to believe that quite a few people want a decent webcam.
To buy a good quality 1080p webcam from Officeworks costs $100 or more. So $40 is an attractive price, if it's any good.
I bought one of these from another retailer expecting the same Xiaomi quality as their other more famous products. Unfortunately, it's just okay. Better than the inbuilt camera on a 2014 Macbook Pro, but that's a pretty low bar to jump. About the same quality in terms of sharpness but less grainy in the low light of indoor spaces. So it's an upgrade, but yeah, I was still disappointed.
This is a fair statement. I have compared it with my MacBook Pro 2019 camera. It's better than the inbuilt one on my MacBook Pro - but it's not great either. But what do you expect for $39 bucks? It's reasonable quality and a responsive web camera.
Do you need Xiaomi account to use it? I really hate must login to use their devices.
