apple tv deal not such a great deal as you can buy one for $99 from official apple store with delivery. But its good if you just want to pick it up without waiting for the delivery

Yes RRP in Aus is $129, but I got mine for $99 months ago at the apple store just by asking for that price. Their usually happy to price match as long as its not ridiculous - all you have to do is ask

BestBuy in USA is apparently listing these as AppleTV (2010) so perhaps something's afoot.
I thought it was new version of Apple TV but after looking at the ads, saw "Apple TVs not Apple TV2".
The picture shows the new (2010) ones, so I think it's safe to say that the ad should have read "2 Apple TV2's for $194", but maybe that is 1 2 many 2's ;)

Let's hope so. I love the form factor, and it runs XBMC. But it's limited to 720P which is the killer for me - the new A5 dual core should easily process 1080P.

The current ATV2 processor can do 1080p fine… it is just the output which doesnt have drivers to handle 1080p (I have played multiple 40GB+ 1080 MKV movie files just fine over WiFi)

There have been reports in the web the last few days that Apple is going to bring out a new Apple TV so I guess the fire sales will start now. I would probably expect these to drop further as time goes by.
This is still a nice deal though.
