I think i saw this in Target for $120 last week, not 100% sure someone correct me if im wrong. Was about to get it but after fiddling around with it seemed a little unstable IMO or maybe display wasn't assembled properly.
You wouldnt buy a thing if you based your decision on display item.. people smash those things up when they try em!
this is Mothers Choice Roundabout Highchair…retails for around $99 aorund other sites. However, BIGW has some issues…it included $7 for delivery when the front page said FREE…..so $57….
Doesnt actually say FREE delivery on their site when you look on this item.. banner probably wrong..good luck squeezing this out of Bigw!
Seriously, get the ikea antilope high chair instead. Easy to wipe clean (or hose down if necessary!), small footprint, very stable and very portable. Oh, and cheaper!
We had a similarly over designed high chair to the roundabout chair to begin with. They take up half your kitchen and getting wheat-bix out of the padding is nigh on impossible.
dont like IKEA stuff….all my furniture is from them….they are not sturdy at all…my bed sides haven completely torn off….
I think you've made a generalisation against ikea furniture. You get what you pay for - the cheap stuff is cheap. The less cheap stuff is much better.
The antelop high chair is very sturdy and very well balanced. It's basically a moulded seat with click in legs… Not really any bits to break off!
Agreed. The Ikea antelope chair for 50 bux cant be beat for sturdiness, strength, simplicity and so easy to clean -overall great design. This chair is way too gimmicky, and used to suck in mums who expect more.
+1 for the IKEA one. Its the only chair you will ever buy. Our one is on it's 3rd bub now, and still like new.
Simple design wins.
Yeh thats cos its a plastic looking bath tub with 2 holes cut in it on 4 legss.. looks uncomfortable for me
Gavman - a high-chair probably isn't intended for you, it's intended for a child! I think you over-estimate how much "comfort" a baby/toddler needs when eating…they're not sleeping in it!
The ikea chair is well designed. The fact that it is well shaped and not so "roomy" means kids can't wriggle around so much, can't climb out so easily, can't fall on their heads on the kitchen floor so easily…
Anyway… each to there own!
Plastic does generally look like plastic lol. Heaven forbid you put your bubs in a plastic chair! Omg!
Fyi we first had a wooden $500 stokke highchair. The IKEA chair wees all over the stokke, regardless that it costs less than 10% of it.
Sold the stokke on ebay to some posers for more than we paid.
Definitely avoid padded high-chairs at all costs.
They appeal to dumb first-time parents who don't appreciate that babies are messy!
(I know because that was me. We saw the light after using Ikea ones in restaurants.)Plus that one looks like the feet will be in your way.
At $30 inc tray (who said $50?), the Ikea one is a real bargain http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/40157918/It used to be $40 + $10 for the tray, that was 4 years ago. Even then it was the best fiddy bux I ever spent. For $30 now it would be rude not to at least try it out. There is a reason why these IKEA ones are popular with cafes etc.
Maniac…..so weird….your link is $19.95
But if you google search "Ikea Antilop" and the first link is $29.95

EDIT -
Seems your link is for SA and WA. Its $10 cheaper in those States.
my wife and i bought this a few weeks ago, it looks a bit out there but so far so good
I just bought one for my sister…….rang Big W and they took away the delivery fee of $7
