  • Damn. Just ordered from Amazon for 399 :(

    • Cancel?

      • Actually it’ll only save me $6.49 but cost me 1245 points so I’m better off with Amazon

  • +1

    Anyone know the difference between:

    • QuietComfort 35 wireless headphones II — Limited Edition, 56K points
    • QuietComfort 35 Wireless Headphones II, 65K points ?

Just the available colours are different? Thanks.

    • +4

Yes - the midnight blue is "limited edition"

Although I don't know what Bose definition of limited is, because I bought that same blue pair nearly 4 years ago and it's still available now. Still going strong BTW.

  • You also get up to 5% to 10% depending if you are a club tier member I think.

    • I was hoping for that, but "The discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer."

      scrap that - it works!

  • I logged in and checked. Stacks and shows in cart 🤠

    • Shipping is an additional 2.25k points

  • Are the sleepbuds a good deal?

    • Just had a look at these. I like the design as I like to fall asleep to Podcasts, however it seems that you can only listen to ambient noises from the Bose app on them. I can't believe they don't allow you to listen to music / podcasts. Seems ridiculous.

      • Would kill the battery life.

    • I think so - worked out to be 50,084 PTS + Delivery

  • So I know the Bose 35 II are quite comfortable to wear but in terms of functionality and performance how do they stack up with the Sony’s latest headphones?

    • +1

The Sonys are definitely ahead in terms of functionality, but ANC performance is still excellent on the QC35. There's a few words comparing the two in this review:

The Bose QuietComfort 35 II/QC35 II Wireless 2018 are more comfortable headphones than the Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless. Out-of-the-box, the Bose also have a more neutral, less bass-heavy sound profile than the Sony. The Sony have a graphic EQ and presets available in their companion app to help you customize the sound to your liking. The Sony are better-built, have longer battery life, a better noise isolation performance, and they leak less noise. Depending on your listening habits, you may prefer one over the other.

      • Thanks for that. I think I might just still stick with Sony as most Youtube reviews have been leaning towards them when comparing the two. Just hope Qantas has another headphone sale.

        • Have both Sony XM4 and Bose 700. Sony are better overall, but if you make calls, Bose is the way to go.
Sony can sense your actions and adjust the NC. Also, you can set locations with profiles for NC.
Also, Sony connects to 2 devices with loss of fidelity (codec). Sony is more comfortable to wear for longer durations.

However, since I am working from home, Bose is used more. Even with lots of bg noise, the other side can hear me loud and clear.
Sony for walks, Bose for work.
          ANC is comparable.

          • @darkmattersunB6c0MV: Oh interesting. In term of music which one gives you a better experience?

            • @nightelves: Apologies for the delay in responding.
              Sounds quality is compatible.
In fact Sony 1000 XM4> Sennheiser PXC550 > Bose NC 70. ( Own and use all three).

Sony is better as you can have your own equaliser settings as per your preference.

ANC as well Sony is the best.
The AI in Sony is handy when outside, but an annoyance if indoors.

For calls , Bose is the best. ( With Sony, the team members can hear, but not crystal clear on Skype calls).

              Overall, Sony> Bose> Sennheiser.

When did the Qantas store start charging for delivery? All of my previous purchases always included delivery in the cost.

    • +1

      Since the pandemic…

      • If you're on the points club membership. Then it wipes it out with the 5% additional discount

      • Not true, I ordered a Shield in August and there was no shipping charge.

  • PSA- Qantas use Toll which are pretty bad couriers IMO. Still waiting on my delivery from 26th August. I live remote but even still, shipping is usually a month tops.

    • +1

Second this. Toll has been horrible even for metro.

Has the firmware issues with the 700s been fixed? All the (possibly paid) reviews point to going for them over the QC 35s. If you had the points which wins, as they’re practically priced the same?

    • They still have horrible horrible popping if you have more than one A2DP source connected. I have to go into my Bluetooth settings on my phone and disconnect music audio if using them on another device.

They don't horribly randomly soft brick themselves anymore however. (Wait that's a plus?)

The system sounds are still obnoxiously loud and do not scale down with volume.

    • nope. Bose are incompetent.

  • Is the Qantas bday month 10% promo still going, does anyone know?

  • 2250 points or $15 delivery.

Would you then calculate the following to get the Bose 700 dollar value?

    67710 / 2250 = 30.09

    30.09 x $15 = $451 ?

  • Thanks, Used my points to buy QC35.

  • QC35 ii has horrible stutter problems. I don't recommend them at all.

    • What’s stutter problem?

  • I ordered a 700 series with points

  • Thanks OP, just ordered Companion 2 series III using points!

  • it looks like its not all items? I am looking at the soundbar 700 and it is only 20% off

    • Yeah its not all items, its "up to 35%".

  • +2

I thought general rule for comparison was 1c per point?

    For the Bose 700 Headphones
    67.7k points = 677$+15$(delivery)?
Where as deals put this at around 500$ quite often?

  • Aren’t points worth 1 cent per point? These deals don’t seem that good?

    • The deals are only ever good if you use the min amount of points and add cash

That puts these slightly ahead of Prime deal depending on how much you value 1245 points

  • You can a qantus customer on a qantus plane, through their headsets…

    • Zero sense. And it’s Qantas

      • +1

Wow you feeled in the gap.

Your not a qantus customer by any chance.

  • Thanks OP, wated 2 hours lookign at reviews of the Bose 700 vs Jabra, Sony, etc. Looks like Bose 700 are the best even for call quality and without a boom against the Jabra. Go BOSE. Only pet peeve is need a separate UC adapter.

  • Hm, deciding if I should go for the QuietComfort Earbuds..
