    Any deals on 32"?

  • +1

    Great monitor, well worth it!

  • I'm really happy with mine from a previous deal.

I personally don't think it's worth paying more than 2x for the S2721DGF, especially seeing as people have commented here about QC issues particularly with black levels, and the review unit the RTINGS had also experienced those issues and as a result had a significantly lower contrast ratio than this S2721D.

    • S2721DGF is for gaming.. this one is not. Can't compare the two.

      • No this is fine for gaming too. I've put in many hours of gsync gaming since getting it and it's great.

Like most people who play games I don't spend $1k+ on a GPU so I can't drive games at the settings I like at 144hz anyway. By the time I could, I'd want a 32" 4K anyway with a decent contrast ratio as I've had 27" 1440p monitors for the last 10 years and I watch as many shows/movies as I do play games.

        • Depends how you define "fine" - the vast majority of gamers, especially FPS players, will find 75hz inadequate for competitive gaming.. S2721DGF is 165hz.

          • +1

@lookingforTV: I define fine for the majority of gamers, i.e. look at the Steam hardware survey results and see that most ~90% of people have less GPU power than a 1080 8GB.

When I say gamer I mean people who play games and call themselves gamers. I don't mean the 0.01% of gamers who make it almost a profession and say you can't be a gamer unless you have a 120hz+ monitor. That's untrue and elitist.

            • +1

@studentl0an: GPU power less than a 1070 8gb can easily draw 120+fps on games like CS:GO, Valorant, LoL etc. I never said 165hz screens are for '0.01% of gamers'.

If you play games like I mentioned above, you have a competitive disadvantage against other players who do have high refresh rate screens. Maybe I should have said 'gamers that play competitive games' rather than the vast majority of gamers.

But, my original point is that the two screens you have mentioned have a different pricing point because the main purpose of each screen is 'different' and is aiming towards a different target market. This can be seen in Dell's website as well.. "Dell 27 Gaming Monitor: S2721DGF" vs "Dell 27 Monitor - S2721D"

  • +1

    Need 2 of these.

    Thanks OP.

  • Will the DS model make an appearance at all today? :D missed it last time and need an adjustable stand

    • +1

I've been informed DS won't be on sale for quite some time.

      • Is the only difference between the D and the DS the adjustable stand ?
BTW. I was patient and finally managed to get one. Thanks

        • Awesome and yes it is.

  • +2

OP, any chance of a 32" monitor deal?

  • LiMaa, do you think the DS version will have a coupon any time soon? Or should I just go this one? Cheers

    • Me too

      • no it won't

  • +1

Great price but make sure your not desperate for delivery.
Ordered the DS variant for $292 on the last sale. Estimated delivery got pushed from 13 Oct to 24 Nov.

  • +2

fingers crossed for a 4k 27 inch deal

  • Good Ps5 monitor? (Monitor noob here)

  • +1

Any chance of a 4K monitor?

    • At the bottom of OP. Yes!

  • +2

Heads up.. My S2721DS I ordered last week has been delayed for November 23 arrival.

    • I foolishly only ordered one of the S2721DS monitors for about 311. It's a great monitor and now I am after a second!

    • +2

I'm looking into this and if you DM will provide you with an accurate ETA and update likely today!

      • +1

        Legend! 🍺

      • Thanks mate, DMing now.

    • Mine came through last week earlier than the estimate, must’ve got lucky!

  • Nice, missed previous two deals, hopefully I can get one this time.

  • good monitor, mine arrived last week from the previous day. If you're in Sydney, be sure to be home for delivery otherise they take it to the star trek depot in Botany which is a pain in the ass to find on GPS

    • +2

be sure to be home for delivery otherise they take it to the star trek depot

Is that where no man has gone before???

      Maybe Scotty can verify…

      • sorry, I meant StarTrack depot

      • Beam me up, Scotty.

        • Scotty says Captain Cook did.

  • +2

Very good monitor, been using for one week now

  • any 1440p 165hz 1ms 27"?

    • I believe there was one this morning, that missed out on

      • Ah damn.. never saw it unucky 4am LMAO

    • uh, the DGF which sold out a couple hours ago? :s

      • Ah damn.. never saw it unucky 4am LMAO

  • +1

Awesome monitor - picked up 2 from the previous deal. What a bargain!!!

  • Is there any other generic coupon codes other than the 15% one listed that will work on other products such as laptops and accessories? The specific laptop I need isn't discounted at all or listed on their eBay for that sale.

  • +3

Might be too much to ask but any chance this deal would be repeated as a DELL website deal so we could use our Dell Advantage coupons from previous purchases?

PS: By the way, thanks Liimaaa. :)

    • If the answer is no, there's a coupon request megathread you could share it with.

    • +1

To offer a competitive price for this monitor it's much more viable for Dell to offer it via ebay.

      • +1

        Makes sense…Thanks LiMaa…

Had ordered this monitor at $229 previously, that should be arriving today…. Have ordered another one just now…. Also have sorted 2 x mounting brackets from earlier deal. So home setup should now be complete. Cheers!

      • That totally doesn't make sense…why is an eBay deal able to be more competitive than their own site?

Or is it because they can do a limited quantity via eBay but their site isn't setup for that?

Personally I just want to actually get one of these deals (27" 1440p with VESA mount for around $250) and don't care where, but it just seems odd for eBay to be cheaper.

Anyway, thanks for continuing to source these deals and put them up, hopefully one day I'll not notice 1-4hrs after the deal is sold out. :D

        • +1

eBay offers companies reimbursement for using their service. So they can offer a more competitive price for their customers, whilst not taking such a hit to their profits.

          • @LiMaaa: Wait, eBay pays Dell to sell products on their site? I assumed that Dell would have to give up x% of the sale price like everyone else (though I assumed large sellers would get cheaper rates).

            • @nmartin84: It's not specific to Dell, they'll do it with many companies when they're running a promotional period, I used to run an ebay store. I thought this was common knowledge?

        • or people stop buying 5 and 6 at a time and give everyone a chance… Should be limited to 2….

  • Got one under last deal. Very good monitor, but does lack eye proection mode. I know there are modes, but they profiles are great. Had to do a custom mode. The speaker aren't great. They should be 3W dual and are much worse than the 2W single speaker in my optiplex. Would strongly recommend external speakers. For the price it is good deal

    • +1

Eye protection mode is pretty much just a yellowish overlay, isn't that available in Windows 10?

      • I had it in my Samsung screen. It reduced brightness and contrast also. This monitor is very bright and the windows 10 night mode thingy just tints it, but doesn't really dim it

        • In the personalize area of the monitor's menu it's possible to set brightness and contrast controls to be accessed using the shortcut buttons. I personally use mine around 30-40 brightness in the evenings with windows 10 night light strength set to 40. Can be set to automatically turn on and off at sunrise/sunset or custom hours too. I don't bother with the contrast setting.

    • +2

      Try out flux.

  • Great deal and price, I have the DS version from the last sale.

  • Thoughts on two of these on each side of a S2721DGF?

WFH setup but also gaming on the S2721DGF.
