Thanks OP
Does anyone have any experience with this one?
(Or any enthusiasts who would like to comment on it's strengths/weaknesses?)I have the non-flip 15 version with Ryzen 4700U, 16GB RAM. I like mine, great build quality, snappy with no bloatware. Display is nothing special but no complaints. Note that the USB C does not support HDMI.
I am considering the Flip 14 Ryzen 4500U version for my wife (which has 256GB SSD).

8gb of ram with no upgradability kills the deal
It is upgradable, you can remove the 4GB DIMM, and put an 8GB DIMM to increase capacity to 12GB.
"The bottom panel is secured by 10 Philips screws for easy removal. The M.2 SSD, M.2 WLAN, and 1x SODIMM slot are all accessible. Keep in mind that 4 GB of RAM comes soldered."
From what it shows, you can upgrade 1 piece of RAM in 1 SODIMM slot.

The majority of people with this budget will be happy with 8gb. The ones needing more are welcome to spend more.
I don't know how people can run with 8gb ram. I have 16gb myself and my laptop idles at 43% usage.
If that was only 8gb ram, that's 6.88gb used already.
Well it depends on the use you make of it I suppose. With 20 Chrome tabs open while downloading a movie and listening to Spotify while checking Tik Tok you can struggle. But lots of folks just check emails and the banana bread recipe. Luckily we have the option to buy better machines.
The majority of that idle usage would be caching, look in the 'performance' tab of task manager. Windows caches very aggressively when you have low RAM usage.
I don't think 8GB RAM is any kind of real limitation given the CPU
How do you find those deals? I am trying to find something in lightning deals but there is not a lot there… I want some full sized one with AMD and a good screen on a good discount for $1500-1800…
