I agree, it's a bit deceptive of Big W. Even Sunbeam list the RRP as $429.

EDIT - I take that all back. If the Big W unit is the brushed steel finish then the RRP is $549. http://www.sunbeam.com.au/products/kitchen/mx8900/
Very noisy motor which chewed up the gear wheel on load. Apparrently, quite a common complaint, as I was told by the authorised repairer. Not a bad price though.
Decent price I think however the reviews for this stand mixer are very poor:

Motor problems and not mixing the bottom of the bowl if you're using dry ingredients…Kinda defeats the purpose of having a stand mixer if you're gonna have to remix everything by hand. Also apparently the dough can mix up the hook and get into your motor (problem even noticed by Gary from masterchef according to the reviews) -
I don't see the point.
If you are buying it to look good on the kitchen bench, you could get a genuine American/Australian vintage mixmaster for a fraction of the price of this cheap Chinese-made retro knock-off.
If you are buying it for function, there are also better options. e.g. the Kenwood http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/57251
Maybe the fake saving put me off. These are normally $300 delivered online.
cheap but are they making it up that original price is $549
i just did a quick online search and they are about $270 normally http://www.myshopping.com.au/PR--277959_Sunbeam_MX8900_Mixma…
just shows that sometimes we are being conned?
