I suspect this is only the first round of discounts… The questions is does any one chain have a particularly large stock they need to shift… Like GG and the Iconia last month.

    • Agreed.
Much better to wait a little longer.

    • True dat.

  • Does this come with the actual keyboard dock thing?

  • I will get one if it's 299.

I was thinking the same thing (even up to 350) as of this afternoon. I was researching the Nook, Kindle Fire, etc. I did a comparison of these little books to the transformer. Sketched them out on a page for size, etc. Transfomer was looking good. The went to GSM arena and compared the Prime with this model. The weight difference is too much for me to ignore (along with other specs). Sorry, transformer. I am waiting for the prime (or a super super cheap IPS nook).

Yet again a release of the prime and then a drop to 250 for this may make me sell my soul, eat my shoes and buy this one…….

BTW, do the bargains from the good guys always feature hoppers crossing in Melb, or is it just me?

      • the quad core transformer was just announced in the usa, same price as cheapest ipad. This is probably a bit pre emptive to clear some excess stock.

  • If it is Wifi only? I am looking for a tablet with 3g connection

    • yes, it's wifi only.

  • It would be a bloody good deal if it came with the dock. But without it is kinda ho-hum. Better to wait a few more weeks IMO

  • damn… it took us this long to reach the original RRP in US

The Transformer Prime is being introduced (US$) at 499. The TF-101 isn't being discontinued and is supposedly going to sell alongside at the new pricepoint of 399. I think from time to time there'll be better deals than this Good Guys one, and some including a favourable dock combo price, but it would be very optimistic to expect a full on Iconia slash. Incidentally, the docks aren't going to be interchangeable. What a surprise…

    • the TF-101's launch RRP in US was $399, it will definitely drop to $299 and below, it sells around $350-$380 on average a few months ago, no idea now

I remember saving it on my Amazon basket and it came up $372 including shipping (due to our strong rate back then!).

  • … Best chance of a near 300 buck deal on the original Transformer will be when the Ice Cream Sandwich preloaded stock starts to leave the factory freezer.

  • Ill wait till 200-_-"

You'll be waiting for a while.

Im typing on mine now and will be upgrading to prime. I just had another update. Asus has released 2 updates in a fortnight. Great support. :)

Oh and the 16gb doesn't come with the keyboard. Wait till the 32gb ddrops to 500 dollars
