Raspberry Pi 4 8GB Model B $106.26 Delivered @ RS Online

FIRST10

I was looking for RPI 4 8GB model and plan to use it as a desktop PC.

It seems to be the lowest price I can find at the moment.

Update 1: I got extra 10% off with the code.
Update 2: When checkout, it doesn't show 10% off. But it should be 10% off after the confirmation of payment.
Update 3: Make sure that it's the first order from a new account.

Warning: The terms of the 10% off first purchase state:

This offer is NOT applicable to Test and Measurement, all Fluke, Raspberry Pi branded products and 3D printers (3D Brands include RepRapPro, Ultimaker, 3D Systems). 3D printer exclusion extends to Scanners, Software and Filaments from RS, Verbatim and 3D Systems.

Please be aware that the orders may not be honoured. Credit to colaman.

Any decent kit deals to match this with?

I bought mine from Mouser US with free shipping for $61 - https://au.mouser.com/ProductDetail/raspberry-pi/rpi4-modbp-…

That's a 2GB version. The one OP posted is an 8GB version.

    • that's nice. You know 8gb is more than 2gb right?

  • Yeah, new account, added the code, checkout mentioned the code, confirmation email tells me $118.06

Interestingly under My Account | My orders it says:

You currently have no orders in your order history

Not a lot of faith in this process

edit: card hasn't been charged yet

    • Your right about this, besides being charged the same amount it also says no orders in my order history. Also the credit card hasn't been charged yet either.

    • Edit2: They verified the reduced amount, debited my account $106.76 and have marked the part as shipped, so awesome!

      • Yes I got charged $106.76 as well and it's marked as shipped too. That's great.

  • Hey Ozbargainers,
question from a beginner, who is starting to learn code / switching careers.

    • Do you recommend getting hands on one of these puppies, or perhaps mb start tinering with breadboard? Or I shouldn't bother at this stage?
    • +1

If you are looking at a career change, tinkering doesn't cut it.

That said, a Pi is a good platform to experiment with Tensorflow, and other ML technologies.

Breadboarding? you can plug breadboards into the GPIO on a pi.

      • Cheers for a quick response. Currently doing a bootcamp to get things going! will look into this after I complete it!

  • Terms and conditions suggest that the 10% is not eligible on Raspberry Pi products

    1. Offer is NOT applicable to Test and Measurement, all Fluke, Raspberry Pi branded products

No deal and if you get away with it good on you but you could be charged the shortfall as this is against their t&cs

    • element14 and RS don't make much profit off the Raspberry Pi line of products
      Or that's what I heard…

  • Pi 4 8GB + USB 3.0 to SATA III SSD (no TRIM support for now for the adaptor) works well running Linux (in my case Manjaro AArch64 + KDE Plasma, surprisingly smooth with all effects working), however, it's NOT the same experience (overall and performance ) running Linux of the same config on x86_64 (say a 150-200 used Optiplex 9020).

Of course Pi 4 will get better and more options to use external SSD will pop up, ARM (AArch64) Linux will be optimised but it takes time. Cooling is another investment in addition (I paid $130 for the Pi 4 alone, not buying more at this stage).

  • $106.26 with free delivery.
    Dispatched with courier, awaiting receipt.
    Thanks.

  • Can anyone comment on how long it takes to receive these from RS, and who is their courier?
    Thanks

    • As an update they are shipped from the UK so it will take 7-10 days to turn up.

      • Arrived today.

  • Mine also arrived two days ago too.
