  • I got this LS-21 for $10 from HN Castle Hill last year and it was a store special. It was a crappy unit and the sound isn't impressive at all. After a while, one speaker crackles and eventually no sound. The bass is so-so. Logitech is a good brand and I must be unlucky to get a lemon.

    • I have this speaker as well and it is the worst one I've ever had. If you have ears like a dog, then you can probably realize there is bass. Otherwise, forget it.

Agree Logitech is a good brand but not this speaker.

This is the ultra budget end of logitech's speaker products.
I wouldn't buy it if you appreciate your music.

    • it's ugly.

$29 at officeworks for those who don't heed the above warnings re quality and want it straight away.

For under $30, there are many 2.1 generics one can buy that can rival this LS21. After my LS21 failed, I bought a generic 2.1 (Thunder) from local flea market for $9 and works great, better bass too. The only thing missing is the control unit.

    • +1 for buying speakers from your local flea market.

OK the above comments are quite interesting, and contrary to my own experience. I bought some LS-21 ages ago from some random online computer store for about $25 delivered. I'd done some reading, and they'd got ok reviews for this price range. The only downside the reviews had given was that their maximum volume wasn't very high.

Mine arrived, and they sound perfectly fine. I've been running them in my bathroom for 2 years, no problems. The volume doesn't go very high, as per the reviews I'd read, but it's plenty enough to fill a bathroom and be audible while in the shower.

These are the 21, with subwoofer, not the regular just 2 speaker ones, with no subwoofer. I imagine the non-subwoofer ones would have no bass to speak of. On the 21s there is a bass volume adjustment knob on the back of the subwoofer for adjusting the amount of bass. Don't put it too high or it will distort and sound like crap. Don't put it too low or you won't hear any bass. Make sure your sound source is ok quality too (ie: 128kbps mp3s are probably going to sound iffy no matter what you play them through), and don't crank your sound source's volume all the way to the max either (or you'll get a distorted input, which will of course give distorted output).

As for this deal itself, the price is what I would expect to pay for these speakers. Not really a 'bargain', but not really a rip off either, so I'll avoid placing a vote on this one.

    • I agree, I found these speakers not too bad but i wish the maximum volume on the dial was way higher… it's currently much too low.

  • I got these for $27 2.5 years ago. I have to agree with Salem. They're decent for a small room. Just don't expect earth shattering base or high max volumes and it's alright. Mine haven't crapped out yet and I've been using them on my desk every day.

  • Agree with above. Paid $15 last year from the last great Fluidtek sale. They are ok for general everyday use. Although not the best sounding for audio considering they are the cheapest 2.1 speaker available from logitech.

  • I have these speakers and they're good for what I use it (TV, music). It's connected to my iMac which sounds a lot better than the built in speakers. I use my headphones if I'm really after good music. I would call them student speakers because most of my mates have them :P The only down side is that it's cables cannot be unplugged which get tangled up with everything.

    btw I paid $30 + $10 delivery about 2 years ago (eBay).

  • for that price the edifier m1350 seems to be the place to go, mine were $16 from officeworks

  • If you have a MSY nearby, it's $24

  • i wouldt get that speaker, really bad sound quality.. mayb $10 ok…

  • All my kids use them for their PC speakers, absolutly fine for that.
The two eldest teenagers are happy and i am happy as they cant be cranked up annoyingly loud :)
Sure they aren't as good as my Warfdales, but for $25 or so they are fine for the purpose.
best thing is the headphone /speaker switch.
I paid $23-25 from Officeworks several months ago for them.
For $28 delivered it saves getting in the car………..
