Seems to have great reviews cheapest I can find. Thinking about putting one in my new build.

I just used a MSI Tomahawk X570 for a build … great quality … all worked fine. Had everything I need … great location for a USB-c front header, lots of SATA ports, 2NVME slots and built in backplate. It has 4 EZ Debug LEDs but no postcode display when you are after this.
The only thing that stops me from buying the Tomahawk is no on-board debug, it's a lifesaver.
There are 4 on board EZ Debug LEDs on the Tomahawk
Sorry I meant like the seven-segment display for debugging
what chipset should I get for Ryzen 4000 (5000?) series?
Zen 3 will be 5000 series and you should get a x570 or B550 chipset.
I know these will be forward compatible, but will there be new chipsets released on top of these?
No. We'd have heard about it before now. I would also advise x570 for future proofing.
I would advise X570.
Though I’m interested in seeing if there’s any new motherboard tech being released at the same time.
Thanks OP - initially considered this for a build I'm planning but will likely go with MSI x570 Tomahawk instead - for improved thermal performance (also cheaper).
