Thanks for your efforts in organising these deals - keep them coming!

  • While I like the feature of unlimited Airport lounge access
$1,750 annual fee seems not worthing IMO

If I am just looking into airport lounge access
I can easily get unlimited access from Qantas Dinners club
for an annual fee of $150 (and only $50 per additional card)

    • Oh wow I didn't even know this existed. That's pretty good value. Would the supp also get unlimited airport lounge as well if paying for the additional card holder?

      • Correct, just pay the $50 and the additional card holder also get unlimited airport lounge access
        https://dinersclub.com.au/travel_card.htm#tab6

        For airport lounge purpose
Just get the Frequent Flyer Diners Club (without the master card)
        $95 annual fee + $55 rewards fee = $150
additional card holder $50 / card (can apply up to 4 cards from memory)

        • Isn't the lounge access for Diners Club different to Priority Pass and therefore has a limited selection of lounges?

          • @nightelves: Yes, lounge network is a bit different between Diners Club vs Priority Pass
But most major airports have lounges that Diners Club can access

            Diners Club lounge search: https://www.dinersclub.com/clubmembers/airport-lounges#!
            Priority Pass lounge search: https://www.prioritypass.com/en/airport-lounges

            eg. For Australia
Diners Club: Darwin, Brisbane International, Sydney, Melbourne, Melbourne, Adelaide
Priority Pass: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Coolangatta, Darwin, Melbourne, Sydney

Note that in some airports, Priority Pass doesn't actually have lounge access but just partner's cafes / restaurants that you can use up to $36USD credit to purchase food and beverages

  • Do car dealers accept AMEX CC’s as a form of payment? Legit question

    • in my experience they will accept it if you are willing to pay a percentage on top of the car price.

      • When I bought my car 2 years back (new car from official dealer)
they only accept credit card payment for the deposit ($2000)
but the remaining balance have to be bank transfer

    • They do. I paid with my American Express last time for part of the payment.

Also worth noting that the card is metal and has some weight to it. It’s kinda cool to have in your wallet.

    • Good tool to threaten robbers with.

    • I dont even use it anymore, its all digital and google pay nowadays. It was pretty cool back then like 3 years ago, everyone gets a huge reaction when they see this metal card

  • i think most people would have an free annual fee essential card and therefore ineligible for the offer…:(

  • This card was $1000 only a few years ago and I couldn't justify it then. Not sure why the price has jumped to $1750, with seemingly less benefits. Next…
