    • Disk drive? Windows is installed by a USB stick.

    • +3

Not the OP. Not sure what you mean by the first question, do you mean if they come disassembled and you do the assembling of the PC parts yourself?

Otherwise, "Windows 10 Home will be pre-installed on the system"

So, Windows is already installed, it's just not activated, on the 480 GB SSD that comes with the system (you could choose a larger storage size, but Windows will still come installed but not activated unless you want them to).

You can basically use your system with nearly all of the features of Windows 10, but there'll always be a watermark always at the bottom of the screen, and you can't change your background along with a few other things -> "You will not be able to change the wallpaper, accent colors, themes, lock screen, and so on. Anything related to Personalization will be grayed out or not accessible. Some apps and features will stop working." But your system will still download critical updates.

You can choose to purchase Windows legitimately at its full cost, but it's expensive, there are other means, namely resellers and the like. Depends on what you want to do.

Basically, these computers come with Windows 10 installed but unactivated, you'll need to purchase a license key, either a legit key or through others means, to activate Windows. No further installations needed.

  • Hi guys. Is it worth to spend $49 and upgrade the motherboard from b550 to x570? Thanks

    1. Does the MSI case provide enough cooling to the system and if I went for the 3600 would I not need to buy a separate CPU cooler? Not sure if the stock cooler provides enough cooling especially given the system overall is likely to be quite hot with the 3080.
    2. What motherboard model is the x570 upgrade. I'm looking for one with usb c preferably and I don't think the b550 one mentioned has any.

    Thanks.

    • +1

I have the MSI case. The case itself has at least good cooling- running HW monitor and looking at the gpu, mobo etc temps, they are quite good- about 30 C idle. The CPU cooler is not good, though- maybe 55C idle, up to 95C load. I've reseated it, reapplied thermal paste etc. It looks like good contact but the cooler is too weak, too small. I have however heard that the 3600 just runs hot..

      • I ordered the 3700x, is the stock cooler on the 3700x better?

        • +2

It's definitely better… might be even 10 degrees better. It actually has a chunk of metal and some fat copper heat pipes. The default 3600 cooler is of the old intel design- a small bowl with fins. I found this review: https://www.techspot.com/review/1635-amd-wraith-coolers-comp…
They found a huge 13 C difference between stock 3600 stealth and your 3700x Prism.

Yeesh. Australian prices are a joke. Cheaper just to buy from USA. Pity I can't go there ;(

  • Looking forward to a 3070 deal when they release!

  • +1

Can anyone comment on the Leaper Air Maxx RGB ATX case? Cheers !

  • Did you guys pay extra to purchase the cooling system?

    • Nope, cant really oc the ryzens that much to make a cooler neccesary in my view

  • -1

    Will it bottleneck?? Hue Hue

  • +1

    Just a public service announcement.

Zen3 will most likely be a 5000 series. 4000 to be skipped because it already exists

  • Anyone with Omnidesk have this case? I'm wondering if it'll fit the pc mount.

  • +2

Just pulled the trigger, heard good things about TechFast so hope all goes well.

  • -5

Great deal Luke! I've also ordered one as well. Upgraded to x570 and PSU just in case.

I was to slow for September delivery, can you please bump me down from Oct to Sept if someone else decides not to purchase (why the bloody hell they would want to do that is beyond me but you never know) or if one of your ozb clients starts giving you crap about blah blah…… Love you long time!

    Can't wait!

  • Rumored that the 20gb variant of 3080 is confirmed. Is that true ?

  • I'm waiting for the 20gb 3080

Gigabyte 3080 Eagle review. Slightly better than the Navida founder edition and it’s cooler. Seems great

  • +2

When the current orders for the 'October' section will be shipped out? Will it definitely be in October or possibly much later depending on stock availability?

    • The cards are scheduled to arrive in October, no one has definitive dates just yet. The systems will ship as soon as possible after they arrive.

      • +1

So the October allocated cards haven't been sold out yet?

        • would like to know as well… if all the october stocks have been way oversold…i might as well cancel the order and try to get a 3090 instead…

          • @Flow220: Same situation here, don't want to pull the trigger if it's been oversold and end up waiting till nov/dec, there's a 25% fee for cancelling the order so it's not like preordering at other vendors.

        • +4

Not sold out yet. I have set the stock to just below the number of cards we're getting, so the site is displaying real time allocation. No overselling.

      • Are the September cards on track to arrive and do you have approx date, also are you sure you will meet full allocation required for September orders?

And how soon after they arrive will they be shipped.

Also If asked for disassembled is there any speed in shipment over pre-built and how many days faster?

(As you can see my second time on check out page I got weak and purchased, was meant to wait for next ryzen )

        • Yes, yes, not going to put a timeframe on time from GPU arrival to system shipping - just as soon as they're ready they'll ship, unassembled generally saves 1-2 business days but they will not be prioritised over earlier orders simply skip build and testing.

  • I'm assuming the GPU comes with Watchdogs 2 game redemption as well? Also when can we expect delivery if we're in the October allocation (beginning, mid or end of October)?

  • can anyo of these builds be built using the Matrexx 30 MATX case??

    • No, they're all ATX mobos, M30 only supports MATX.

      • Thanks for your reply Luke

Will there be any future deals that comes with MATX builds?

        • More than likely, yes. But not until more 3080 stock becomes available to us.

          • @luketechfast: ok cool thank you. I'll keep a look out for your deals

  • Hey Luke,

I may have ordered too fast and used the wrong code at checkout. I've emailed the sales address and hope I can get a refund so I can purchase more upgrades.

Feeling very daft but thank you in advance!

  • Is the RAM in dual channel?

  • -8

Why in the world would you spend $1300 on a graphix card? They used to be $200. Ridunculous.

  • +1

If anyone is interested - there seems to be more 3080 Eagle editions for September available

Luke if you're still poking around these parts…. would love to have an idea when your shipment this week is arriving :)

    • Just checked, I din't see any for September?

      • Gone again - there was definitely some available upon posting.

        • Damn I ordered the other night and only October was available.

  • Damn, if this was for an intel i7 or i9 I'd be all over it.

    • +2

Coming when we work out deals for motherboard pairings with suppliers.

  • Will you get more stock of Gigabyte OC 3080's in the future? Might buy a prebuilt from you guys around Black Friday if there are any special deals prepared.

    • Trying for more for October but they will be part of the mix going forward for sure.

      • Will you also be offering Asus 3080's, specifically the Strix version in the future?

        • Highly unlikely. High tier cards don't really have a place in deal-based negotiations.

          • @luketechfast: What about the TUF version, or is that considered high-tier as well? The TUF 3080 seems like a really good card performance and cooling wise

  • +2

Any indication of what ram is likely to be shipped with these?

    • Would like a response to this as well. I don't believe it's RGB ram, probably Gskill Ripjaws or Teamgroup or something. I'm not sure why Techfast don't offer RGB ram as default especially for builds over $2k, but it's more an aesthetic issue than anything.

      • That’s why I ask. I’m a sucker for RGB. Hell I’d pay a little bit more as an upgrade.

Although the 2 8gb sticks will probably get shunted for 2 x 16gb sticks around Black Friday time

        • -2

Yeah I wouldn't mind spending another $10 for RGB ram, but honestly if you're spending this much on a system already RGB ram should be included at no extra charge.

          • @WinstonWithAY: Yes and no. I think techfasts business model is to cut costs wherever possible while still provider decent systems.

This one in particular is a lot better specced that most of there other systems (gold psu, gigabyte gpu etc)

But yeh RGB ram would be nice.

  • Hi Guys,

Just got this deal with the 3700x and upgraded mobo and SSD.

I did get the 120mm Liquid CPU Cooler, though i don't plan on doing any overclocking so not sure this is overkill.

Now I just play the waiting game, should be a big step up from GTX 980!

    Cannot wait.

    • +2

Honestly if you're not overclocking the stock cooler is just fine for the 3700X.

      • Yeah that's what I have been reading, might make an adjustment and go with the stock cooler.

I'm also interested in what the RAM and motherboard will be for x570 option, saw it might be Bio Star which i haven't heard good things about.

        • Hardware unboxed did a good comparison of the 3700X cooled with the stock cooler versus an AIO, I believe it was the Aorus AIO liquid cooler and found minimal temperature decreases of a few degrees, which doesn't really justify spending $100+ for a liquid cooler. Liquid cooling really only makes a difference if you plan to push the clock speeds.

          • @WinstonWithAY: what about the 3900x , I am planning to upgrade to 3900x from 3700x which they now offer, will the stock cooler still perfrom well for the 3900x? thanks.
(I will never overclock it just normal day to day use)

        • same, want to upgrade x570 but doesnt really want a bio star, don't know if there is any other better brand

          • @ozvictor: There is but the upgrade are more $$

            • @creesy: What upgrades? I can’t see any on the site unless you are referring to the Wifi boards

              • +1

                @3rdEarth: Yeh mate sorry.

Do what I’m doing which is getting the b550 and 3600?(which is still a new and capable chipset?.

Then upgrade the board and CPU to a newer generation at Black Friday.

Should still be able to sell the other one for a few bucks too

                • @creesy: I feel the same. Even though I upgrade to 3700x, Bought the system but can’t stop thinking about zen 3 and may upgrade later

                  • @ozvictor: Did you take the x570 upgrade?

                    • @3rdEarth: No I didn’t, I didn’t upgrade anything else. Only cpu, I don’t like the bio star x570 and paying 200 extra for the WiFi one seems too much for me .

                      • +2

@ozvictor: I've gone for the WIFI upgrade, will be handy as I occasionally take my PC to friends houses so Wifi could help.

Also much prefer the idea of a Gigabyte Aorus and ASUS TUF WiFi+ over the BioStar which I haven't heard good things about.

Going to keep the liquid cooler (hoping its RGB not stuck with one colour but that's nitpicking) due to being in AUS the summers can make my room quite toasty and can overclock if I ever wanted to. Just hoping the RAM and 1TB NVME m.2 SSD are decent.

                        • +1

@ryan1815: Great choice mate, the asus is a great board and it comes with a USB C port which is handy. But I am on a budget and probably just buy a WiFi card

                          • @ozvictor: Yeah I have gone over budget slightly (mainly due to motherboard), my current PC is about 5 years old and never upgraded it, hoping to get similar mileage out of this one

                            • @ryan1815: Same here, after spending over 2k on a pc will definitely want it to last 5 years. I am still thinking if I should upgrade the PSU, not sure if 750w is sufficient enough if I decide to just upgrade the cpu if the zen 3 is too powerful

                              • @ozvictor: I went with the Aorus upgrade on the PSU, felt like the $59 was worth it in this situation even for the quality improvements.

                                • @3rdEarth: I might do the same, 850w is more future proof if upgrade to r9 in the future, what else did you upgrade? Thanks

                                  • +1

@ozvictor: Took the extra 16gb of RAM as well to get dual channel 16gb x 2 instead of the 8gb x 2. Will be easier to sell this RAM configuration in the future if I decide to upgrade to RGB options in the future.

Also upgraded the CPU to the Ryzen 7 3700X for $200, I feel like for a majority of games I intend to play it is unlikely that the CPU will be the bottleneck so I felt like the $200 upgrade was worth the price.

Checking PCCG the Ryzen 5 3600 goes for $299 and Ryzen 7 3700X goes for $519 so worth the upgrade in my situation.

                                    • @3rdEarth: nice, i am planning to get a m.2 nvme ssd, thinking about whether to get the Samsung 970 Evo plus or a PCIE 4.0 Gen 4 SSD, the PCIE ssd is expensive and dunno if the quality is reliable.

  • +1

    Hi Luke
Any chance for more case options in future builds?
    Thanks

    • Probably unlikely. It's very difficult to obtain the quantity we need locally.

      • you lot should be using NZXT cases.

        • Any case in particular you'd recommend?

        • There's not enough quantity in Australia.

      • Fair. But what about your partnership with Gigabyte? Couldn't you swing something with them, like the Aorus C300 or something? Or does it not work like that?

        • Possible, but this really doesn't seem like a case that would appeal to the masses based on all the feedback over so many deals about high airflow cases, which is how we buy. We can't buy 1s, 2s, 10s, we need far more.

          • @luketechfast: Fair enough. If you can get your hands on some good airflow cases, maybe the meshify C or H510 or something, that would be great. Appreciate the response anyways

  • This seems too good to be true, has anyone actually received their built PC yet??

    • Probably not from this deal.

But techfast can be trusted. Look at their past deals

    • I've purchased multiple from them in the past. Always happy with product, communication and prices.

  • Luke I’ve purchase a system from the October allotment. I’ve decided I want to upgrade the processor to the 3700x is this possible?

    • Yep, please email [email protected], easy done.

      • Thanks mate email sent

      • Still awaiting a reply with invoice
