I remember they used to do the 24 pack of Coke for $8 or $10 in these Saturday deals, but 50c a can is still good considering the price today!!

    • -2

You can still get cans for that price occasionally at supermarkets. :P

      • prolly the new 330ml cans!

        • nope, the 375 ones, but they haven't been that price for months…

      • yh those are overdue or close by date.. ive seen them at markets alot

I used to get those 24 pack slabs at Big W a few years back but I found that the cans of Coke Zero tasted a litte bit off, like it had expired or was NQR for some reason.

I think the best description for it was that it tasted like there was not quite enough syrup in the can.

Anyone else have the same experience recently?

In the last two months, the best I have been able to get the cans were the 2 x 24 pack cartons for $30 at Coles/Woolworths.

      Regards
      Daniel

I find with Cola Zero occasionally I get a bad batch, doesn't matter where I buy it from just happens from time to time.

  • no pamphlet online?

  • Hopefully there will be a repeat of the $1 thongs.

    • +5

What kinda thongs? A few pieces of string aint worth $1 :)

      • They come in twos, so not quite so bad value.

        • -2

Oh wait … those kind of thongs, nevermind.

  • PSP E1000 Console - $98

Damn it, I just bought one for $129 from Kmart a few days ago :(

imho wouldve been better off with a second hand 'almost new' psp 3000

      • Yeah the whole PSP revision thing got a bit out of hand, like the DS/DSi/DSi XL.

I wish companies stopped wasting resources like this, or at least offered some kind of "send in your old console for a discount" deal.

      • I've had bad experiences with second hand consoles in the past (not from eBay or whatever, but from actual stores like EB), so I don't trust them any more.

  • 50 cents Coke cans - I remember last time they had this people were buying dozens of them.

Please don't abuse the register staff, we're going to be there all day!

  • Just a curious question, how do you know these deal b4 hand ?

    • Got the pamphlet in the mail.

      • Scan/take photo and post would be helpful
        :)

  • Thanks for this, i'm going to buy some diet coke if they have it, plus the Cottenelle toilet paper, and maybe a 40L tub, depends on what it looks like.

    What PSP games ?

each store is getting like 20-30 pallets of coke, so you should be right until all the vending machine operators come and buy all the coke!

    • Yeah right. If this happened at my store, that would take up half of our whole warehouse with one product.

  • Is this nationwide?

  • Russell Hobbs kettle and toaster at $25 each looks cheap.

  • +1

Can buy some of these things online too - got the nappy boxes at $28 with free delivery! Why battle the crowds?

  • was like a bloody dogfight in there today, self serve and registers were like 100 people deep!

  • Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows why those of us in Adelaide, SA have to pay $13 (rather than $12) per slab of coke? I know we get 10 cents per can if we are recycling (which we do!) and that often rural areas pay more but is it normal for metropolitan areas to pay more?????

    • seems that adelaide always pays slightly more. its to offset that can recycle scheme I believe.

      • But in this instance it works out better for SA. We may be paying $13 a slab, but getting $2.40 (10c/can) refund, making it $10.60/24cans… not including fuel costs and time required to redeem the refund of course.

Also at BigW Arndale they had already sold out of Coke by lunch, but were taking rainchecks that could be collected Tuesday at the same price.
