    The bezel is huge

    • I was going to say the same thing. Anyone have this?

      • +2

Plenty of comments about this monitor from the last deal here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/542725

      • I have it. I actually prefer having those bezels, without them it'd just look so much more fragile. They're not glossy so they're not ugly either.

    • Right!

I know it's primarily an aesthetic issue, but I'm definitely paying more for a minimal bezel display in 2020.

I got the Dell P2419H for $200 a few weeks ago, and it's fantastic. Though I wouldn't pay the inflated RRP of anything Dell, there has to be alternatives to this with nice bezels for only a bit more.

      • +2

And the adjustable height stand is great on the Dell monitor

        • I'm sure it is. I don't know though - got all 3 of my babies on single arm mounts 😄

          • @muwu: Also thinker bezel is better if you use two monitors. The black bar will be a distraction if it’s too thick

            • +2

@ozvictor: Exactly. That's why is not only an aesthetic issue. My triple monitor arrangement have displays that are continuous - something not possible with big bezels.

      • I wound up buying 2 of the 24ml600m, I think it's the same panel and I paid a lot more but damn I love the thin bezel. Worth it since it has been my work setup for 6 months now (and will be til next year)

        • How much $?

          • @muwu: One I got for $200 during the covid buying panic back in March, the second I paid $250 for because I wanted a matching one and it was the first stock I'd seen of it in months - it has been discontinued so I didn't get the best price.

      • @miracle if you dont mind can you let us know from where you purchased for $200?
        Thanks

  • Should I wait for Samsung SR350 to drop to $169 again or this or AOC 24B2XH?

    • +2

Your wait is over. It's $150 now

    • Yeah, I'm also waiting for the samsung to drop in price, is the samsung monitor the best budget monitor for content consumption and entry gaming if it drops to $169?

    • +1

AOC has higher refresh rate, better colour coverage, and slimmer bezel. I'd take that.

  • 32” for $269 is cheap

    • +1

RRP for that is $529 yikes. Would not recommend going above 24" for 1080p though. Better to go for 4k at 32".

      • That size is great for older people.

  • it looks like the 22" got 2 hdmi in the photo? my son currently use a Dell 19" with PS4 - the 24" might be too big on his desk?

    • He won't mind

    • 24 will not be too big. I use a 34 and it's great

  • $151 now

This looks pretty decent and only 10 bucks more.

1 DP instead of HDMI, and with DVI and VGA. But most importantly, it has a proper adjustable stand.

  • I have the 22-inch version and the viewing angles and colours are appalling. Was only using it as a second screen and TV in my office, but couldn’t stand it.

Replaced it with another screen and now it sits in the cupboard as a spare.

    • You sure it was MK430H? It's easy to confuse them. I have the 24" and it's the opposite of appalling.

      • You’re right, I have the 400 which is the TN panel. Was on special from Officeworks at the time.

    • I think you got the TN version which is bad, the IPS 22 and 24 inch looks stunning

  • Note, no internal speakers.

    • Any monitors with similar specs/price with internal speakers? Haven't been able to find any :(

      • Why do you want internal speakers? In this price range they will be horrible.

        • -1

Just for the missus to have some audio when playing sims. She doesn't like headsets, and I don't like wires for speakers so internal speakers would be best option since sims definitely doesn't need good sound. Guess I could get some Creative Pebbles for her but eh.

          • @Dingus: Disagree.

The best option would be a generic soundbar with hdmi passhtrough.

Most monitors should be slightly above desk height also, for posture.

            https://www.bigw.com.au/product/eko-2-0ch-soundbar-with-hdmi…

            • @MasterScythe: For sure, will be on a F80 monitor arm to maximise deskspace which is why internal speakers would be the go imo. This is the same woman who can't see/doesn't care of the difference between DVDs and 4k blu rays, which is another reason for internal :/

              • @Dingus:

can't see/doesn't care of the difference between DVDs and 4k blu rays

Neither can I; but audio is much more noticeable than visual in media.

  • Why aren't any 27" this cheap

  • I have it and it's ok, if you aren't looking for the higher quality monitor it's a good buy, especially at that price.

  • 24" CF390 Curved FHD MonitorLC24F390FHEXXY
    $171 @ Goodguys Commercial

  • You can get it for $151 if you check other sellers.

Been wanting a dual monitor setup for so damn long and could never justify spending so much, but for $302, it’s a no-brainer.

  • I am glad that decent quality monitors (24 inch IPS) have become so affordable. Hopefully 10 bit screens will become mainstream soon like they are for Televisions. 4k monitors are problematic still because of the small pixel sizes and the need for a high end graphics card if you want to game.

There's nothing to write home about here.

The saving is only $13 off the regular price that Amazon charges. The recommend retail price is irrelevant.

The screen itself is about as low resolution as you can buy these days. It's 1920 x 1080 pixels. You won't find a new computer monitor with less pixels.

It's a smalI price reduction, but I wouldn't rush to get it.

    • +4

It is not only $13 off the price Amazon usually charges, that's just the price it was for a few weeks before it reached this new low. The usual price on Amazon is more like $190, so this represents a $40 saving on that. You can check the price history of the monitor here: https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07D1L34VD .
Also, 1920 x 1080 may be a standard resolution for most monitors these days but that does not make it low. On a 24" screen that resolution is all you need.

  • Can anyone recommend a good 24" IPS for use as a vertical monitor? The bezels on this are too thick

  • Is it 1440p capable..
