These used to go for $69 for a year pass, now they expect people to pay $99 during a pandemic?

    • +1

Actually prior to closure $139 was the price for an Annual Pass.

The best price more recently was late 2018 at $79 for renewals.

      • $139 is their standard price, but there have definitely been plenty of deals in the past few years where you could get the year pass for much cheaper than what you have posted.

        • Show me a recent deal :), I posted some of the crazy low prices when they were available such as $64 deal here (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/289196).

This is the best deal currently available and has been in the last year or so.

@JordanM: 'past few years' isn't what I would call recent. But here is a deal from 3 years ago for $74 annual passes https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/317573

@XVX: May I remind you of the valid reasons for a deal negative vote?

The deal is not the cheapest available
              Issue with product
              Issue with retailer

One way to make up for lost revenue is to make more revenue.

Your logic is hilarious. "Cheeseburgers used to go for $1, now they expect people to pay $3.50 during a pandemic?" /s

Already got like a 9 month extension on my passes due to COVID19

  • They're really hammering for sales here… problem is if someone is infected with COVID, all the attendees are screwed tighter than Usher and his herpes suit.

It's a good deal - saves having to worry about phones being broken.

    • Am I the only one googling what a “herpes suit” looks like?

      • https://bit.ly/35hicyv but in red. Usher is being sued for not disclosing his herpes infection.

        • Silly me thinking a Dreamworld usher was directing attendees to their ride seats, while wearing some kind of tightly-fitting herpes suit.

Oh good… so my $20 food/drink voucher will buy 1 bottle of water at the theme park prices.

    • -1

If you can't afford to go, don't go.

    • Bottle of water is approx $5 at Dreamworld, should still have $15 :)

  • For anyone who's buying this, can you see if they include Skypoint climbs as well? That'd sweeten the deal

    • Is this it?

      Inclusions

      • SkyPoint Observation Deck 12 months unlimited entry
      • There's the elevator ride to the top but you can also do the climbs. I'm curious if it includes the climb itself similar to harbour bridge climb

        • +1

No it doesn't include the climb itself. Just entry to the observation deck.

Dreamworld Passholders previously received a discount on the Climb however this is not currently mentioned.

  • I thought they'd be bankrupt by now, after the fatalities and then the pandemic. I assume the directors are just waiting for me to buy annual passes before falling over.

On a positive note, so long as the borders are closed there'll be only locals and very short queues.
