[eBay Plus] Lenovo M14 Portable Monitor $299.41 Delivered @ Lenovo eBay

270
PARTY21

For those who are picky with their monitors, this is arguably the best portable monitor available right now:

300 nits, 99% sRGB/72% NTSC/76% AdobeRGB IPS panel - so you can do colour critical work on this.

570g (This is the weight class of 10 inch tablets - the 12.9 Inch iPad pro is 640g, and this is a 14 inch monitor)

2 USB inputs including power pass through

Swivel base so you can have it at any angle rather than fixed position

Reviews from windowscentral, Tomshardware, PCMag for a few examples. I have not yet found a negative review on this monitor.

For those without eBay plus, it is currently 10% off on Lenovo's own website for $341.10 and you can get 8% cashback through Cashrewards for monitors I believe. No one else selling for less than $350 according to staticice.

  • Is this a touch version?

    This is almost half price

It's also a bigger monitor with more than twice the weight and no specs on how well the screen performs.

They aren't really appealing to the same user.

  • I'm waiting for something that unfolds into a 27 inch

    300nits. Don't

Why? Is 300 nits completely unusable? Do you even know how bright 300 nits is? Can you find a brighter monitor with these features for this price? Like for like? Don't comment if you have nothing useful to say. I'm sick of seeing elitists on OzB who have nothing constructive to provide. At least explain why.

Hey don't appreciate the neg, but to be fair I was kinda curt.

It's an issue with all portable monitors, 300nits is brighter than say the BenQ and Asus monitors of this kind but still not suitable for say open windows during the day.

I've tried a bunch, own a few and I'm sick of them as they never work as a practical portable solution.

You might be better off with say a tablet using screen extending software (iPad pro being 559 nits (yes it's more expensive but passes the picnic table test and becomes usable compared to this one - so if that's your requirement, don't bother considering 300nits) .

Hope I'm not overreaching saying picnic table test is a valid one for a portable monitor.

If you plan to use this thing predominantly at night in a dim room, it's totally fine. But in those cases you probably have a power outlet. That's a fair assumption.

IMHO It's not elitist to expect a monitor match an entry level tablet, most that top 400nits (in my experience)

My $.02 , your milage may vary.

OzBargain is as much about value as it is about price. This monitor doesn't entirely service the category it claims. So heads up there - a valid contribution. Thanks for pushing me to elaborate

Excellent response. Thanks for that. It's usually a good idea to provide background experience in the first post since it provides authority and weight to your comment, rather than a seemingly troll post.

  • Note that this has no battery of its own.

I'm getting a Nexdock Touch, to connect to my tablet, laptop or mobile running Samsung Dex. Some people are using them with Raspberry Pi, Game Consoles or Chromecasts.

    • Holy hell, this is awesome. Need a portable lightweight solution, don't want to buy an android tablet and essentially copy the hardware of my phone PLUS this keeps the OS administration over multiple devices to a minimum. Thanks for posting this, this is what I need.

  • Would be tempted if I thought there was any chance I'd be going on work trips anytime soon, but can't see myself flying to the Sydney office anytime soon, and a SE Asia trip is probably out of the question for the next couple of years at least.

does not say what resolution it is. Bit risky.

It says 1920 by 1080 on the official Lenovo page. It's sold by Lenovo Australia via eBay. I don't think there is any more risk involved than buying anything online.

      • might want to add that info to your post

        • +1

The information is easily found in any of the three review links, the eBay description and the purchase page. If one is interested I suppose they can locate this information.

          • -1

@Fiximol: ebay description does not include it.

            All you get is

            Brand: Lenovo
            Language: EN_AU
            Operating System: OS Independent
            UNSPSC: 43211902

  • I purchased this one few weeks back for $303 - and it has been great. Really like the passthrough for power for both Surface Pro 7 and MBP 13. Tilt is nice to have as well and its a lot thinner than I expected. As for brightness, its definately usable. Of course its not going to break any records being low powered, but I was very surprised overall, and for the price, would highly recommend!

  • how does this compare to blitzwolf one on bg
