I have owned and used this laptop. It is brutally slow. Returned it a week after I got it.

  • 5 year old internals

How can this possibly be worth $699…

    • That's the thing. It's not.

      • Is it worth $399?

        • +1

          nope. Not even that.

This processor is really really bad

  • Wondering if this laptop would suit for occasional Web and email. After reading the comments I'm thinking it's Junk?

    • +2

Its rubbish. Could do better with a gumtree lappy tbh for a little bit more.

      It’s junk. Buy an iPad

Honestly only buy this thing if spending $600 will mean you need to skip meals. An old i5-4xxx refurb laptop for about $400 will also serve you much better (they're rare but i think we've seen some examples around here?)

      • refurb/used thinkpads around that price of $400 to $500 would be far better than this dell.

        • Will take a look at refurbished. Thanks for the extra info.

          • @Pemberk987: An example of what you could be getting around the $400-$500 mark

            Storage: 128GB SSD Upgradable

Graphics: Intel Graphics Full HD (1920x1080).

This one even come with 4G/LTE

            • @xoom: x1 carbon. I like. First time I wanted a carbon was when watching that unboxing channel on youtube. Used to compare them to macbook pros.

              • @Pemberk987: the x1 is top of the line business laptops for lenovo. These are commercial grade builds. So you know its quality.

                • @xoom: Definitely a good recommendation. Pity that seller doesn't ship. Im from Perth so I'll keep looking.

This is going to give me nightmares tonight.
There's nothing redeeming about the laptop and with the crippling specs the touch screen is just more a hindrance than a feature.

  • Is this not the same laptop that regularly went for $319? or was that better performing?

    now $299 with SAVE400

  • I bought this laptop for my mum who is using a tablet and is not very tech savvy. It's true that it is bit slow running Windows 10, but nothing unbearable. I removed windows 10 and installed Chromium (basically like a chromebook) and now it is very fast and perfect for an internet beginner, a kid or even a uni student. The screen is surprisingly good and the touchscreen works great. Everyone is here trashing the specs, but for under $300 this makes a great little laptop for someone who just needs to take notes, surf the web and do most basic tasks. I honestly liked playing around with is so much that I am considering getting a chromebook for uni and leaving my macbook at home.

  • $299 is bargain! I happy with everything come with this laptop.Only down side for me is the storage is only come with 128Gb.
