If you own a Oral B toothbrush and hate the proprietry charging dock/cord I can't recommend one of these USB bases enough:

    LINK

It means you can use a micro usb cable + 'wall wart' as well as a portable charger when travelling etc.

    • That's awesome. I'll get a couple of these for travel purposes.

    • Great find!

    • -2

      will it charge faster?

      • Probably not tbh.

    • -7

      Shame, not a USB C.

      • +2

You can literally buy an adapter head for for 20c on aliexpress

        • Less e-waste if everything is one connector. Soon, this will be dumped when another one comes out with the need of an adaptor.

      • +4

Doesn't have qi either, or NFC, or B28

        • +3

          No headphone jack. No deal.

    • -6

Vie ist it in ze German???? And it's coming from chyna so will take 3 months to arrive.

    • +1

This is also actually awesome for when the original base gets mouldy.

      • +3

        Just clean it

    • +1

I would really have a hard think about using this as it doesn't appear to be waterproof.

      • -1

I charge my toothbrush once a week and it's dry when I do. What's the issue?

  • +18

2500 and 2000 are the same brush, the 2500 just comes with a travel case.

    • +2

      Great info, exiting thread now.

    • +1

The travel case also immediately breaks the first time you drop it, at least it's cheaper.

  • +3

    Cart subtotal (1 item): $68.42

    • Amazon:

      Thank you for your time
Please go-ahead and order the item and help you with the difference price once the order is shipped.

      • Getting same error, What does this mean?

  • +1

Are all the Oral B bases the same/compatible?

    • I can confirm that my pro 2 2000 charges fine on the charger from the base model oral b toothbrush. Not sure if it works the other way around though

  • +1

Batteries : 2 AA batteries required.

    typo?!

  • Lithium or nicad battery?

    • The Amazon review at the top says it has a lithium battery inside

    • Pro 2 and Pro 3 series are Lithium.

  • +2

That'll teach me to go in at $70

  • Is this the same toothbrush as the shaver shop deal?

  • Description for the 2500 says "Colour May Vary".

What are the chances of receiving a pink toothbrush, considering the 2000 model without a travel case is more expensive?

  • Oops, just went up to $68…

Edit: And back to $51. Managed to place an order for it.

    • and back up to $68 again :(

      • +1

        And back down now :-)

        • yep still down and just ordered 2x - thanks OP

  • will this work on a 7000 base?

  • +1

Very good deal at $51, the extra to step up from the cheapies is well worth it. Battery life is as advertised (I get more than 2 weeks of regular use on a charge) and the faster motor with pulsations does make a noticeable difference over the basic Vitality brushes.

  • How does this (Oral B Pro 2) compare to the Oral B Genius range (8000 or 9000)?

    • +1

It doesn't have software for your phone. It does have a slower/sensitive/gum-care setting over the cheapies.

      • +1

I am just switching from 5000 to 2000. I never used any of the additional cleaning modes and the regular cleaning is the same + probably better battery life for 2000 thanks to lack of stupid Bluetooth.

      • +1

Why does a toothbrush need to pair with your phone ??

        • Timer, brushing cycle, battery monitor…brush head monitor. Just some guesses what they are for.

        • you can share on facebook for how long did you clean your teeth in the morning. Literally.

  • Great deal. This can't be beat for $50.

  • Heads up that these appear to come with UK plugs requiring an adaptor for AU power points.

    • Adapters from aliexpress in the first comment, expect some delivery time though.

    • -8

Yeah too annoying to have an adaptor on top of it.
That's why I bought it from ShaverShop with the $10 off with any new subscription.

OP should specify it in the description.

      • "Might be of interest from some who can deal with adaptors or have a base."

Also it's coming from the UK so of course it won't come with an AU adapter (just like the WD Elements deals from US or UK for example).

And it clearly says on the Amazon page that it comes with a 2-Pin UK Plug.

  • +1

There are still stock available at Aldi for pro 2 2000 with travel case at 69.99 it's just 4$ more if you consider 16$ shipment and that will be with Australian plug.

      4. ?? free shipping
      • -3

Yes, but you have to have new account every time you want to try the prim option and imagine how many time you buy stuff from Amazon.

  • How do these compare against the generic brawn coles/woolies $20 dollar motor brush?

    • +2

I think the Pro 2 2000/2500 is the best bang for your buck Oral B toothbrush. Feels like it delivers a superior clean to the cheap Oral Bs and has a pressure sensor and 30 second timer.

  • Fantastic deal - I bought one.. thanks OP!

  • +1

Does eveyone have this as their order status:
We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item.

It's odd because showed an estimate when I ordered.

    • I don't think it's in stock even though it says it is. I've cancelled mine anyway, not worth waiting weeks to save $18 (plus I'd have to buy an adapter).

  • is there any cashback available on this? That will make this an even sweeter deal

    • Or a discounted gift card buying option?

Most insurers offer discounted gift cards, Amazon is usually ~4%, but currently no valid cashback.

        • Thanks mate. Its a shame that the price of the toothbrush has shot up during this time.

          • @Stevo-ozbargain: $55 for the non-travel case edition (which apparently breaks immediately anyway) is an excellent deal still, many of us jumped in last month at $70 from the Shaver Shop. $55-4%=$52.8~ after gift cards. You won't find it cheaper soon.

  • -1

Price gone up? no longer appearing as $51

  • -5

    Now $53.36 - _-

    • -1

Is that why you negged? Isn't it still a good deal?

      • -2

No because it's unobtainable. There's none left. I cancelled my order.

        • -1

How do you know there's none left?

          • -2

@eug: Because I ordered it and my order was immediately put on back order with no update for 3 days.

            • -1

@Levathian: A backorder doesn't mean it's unobtainable. It just means it's backordered so you'll have to wait a bit longer.

              • -2

                @eug: Yes it does.

                • @Levathian: So are you saying PissLUR's order will end up being cancelled by Amazon, and Amazon's big green "In Stock" label is wrong?

                  • -2

@eug: Yes because mine was delayed too. It's a poor deal imo. /thread

                    • @Levathian: Being unhappy is not a valid reason to neg.

                      • -3

@eug: "issue with retailer" is a perfectly valid reason to neg. Especially if the listing says its in stock and in my case it clearly wasn't.

                        • -1

                          @Levathian:

"issue with retailer" is a perfectly valid reason to neg. Especially if the listing says its in stock and in my case it clearly wasn't.

Being out of stock is not a valid reason for a neg. Go right to the bottom of the voting guidelines. "Expired/out of stock" is listed as an inappropriate use of a negative vote.

How was it clearly out of stock? Did Amazon tell you it's out of stock? It's coming from the UK, and you cancelled your order after 2-3 days. How quickly were you expecting to receive it?

Why did you neg team teri's comment? Do you think he or she is lying?

                          • -2

                            @eug: I never negged their comment…

This discussion is clearly going nowhere. If there's a valid issue with the retailer, you can neg. So I changed my vote to a neg. /end

                            • @Levathian:

If there's a valid issue with the retailer, you can neg.

Sure. But your issue is that you claim they've run out of stock. Being out of stock is not a valid reason for a neg.

In any case, it's still marked as In Stock and it looks like people's orders are progressing. Maybe you shouldn't have jumped the gun and cancelled your order so quickly.

Has anyone got a delivery date yet ?

    • Preparing for Shipment

      • Yep, still that for me too.

        • Just had a chat with them. Packed and ready to ship, just waiting for the courier to confirm when they pick it up, then it gets sent and the shipment confirmation will have an ETA.

          • @team teri: Meanwhile I bought one from Shaver Shop on Friday morning and it arrived yesterday… $11 more, local warranty and didn't need an adapter.

Still waiting for the refund on this deal though.

  • How does this work with Amazon, still preparing for shipment, yet you can still buy the same unit from Amazon UK at a higher price

  • tracking shows the following -

    Northampton, GB ->

    Koeln, DE ->

    Louisville, KY US ->

    Honolulu, HI US ->

    Botany, AU

    • Damn travelled half the globe.

    • Yours shipped? So that means Amazon wasn't out of stock, which means the deal was obtainable? That'd be news to some people. 😏
If I remember right, the original delivery ETA was some time this week. Does that still look correct?

      • Shipped - Tuesday, 8 September
        Arriving - 18 September

my guess is that it will arrive earlier than 18 September.

      • -1

It's taken how many weeks just to ship though? Mine had no update for 4 days which is kinda ridiculous. Got my money back.

I've got my Shaver shop one now so I'm all g.

        • -1

It's taken how many weeks just to ship though?

Five working days. This deal was posted on the Tuesday the 1st of Sept, PissLUR's order was shipped Tuesday the 8th of Sept.

The delivery date I remember seeing was between the 11th to 18th of September. So it looks like they took into account the idle time before shipping.

Mine had no update for 4 days which is kinda ridiculous.

What were you wanting them to tell you? They already stated the estimated arrival date above the "In stock" line before you placed the order. The UK was still under lockdown then, so their customer service was probably affected as well.

          • -2

@eug: I still don't believe it was in stock, mine appeared as if it was on backorder, despite saying otherwise on the listing.

Anyway if you get it and you're happy with waiting then good for you 🙏

    • Makes sense. Louisville is a major UPS hub.

      • Yeah. The laptop I bought from the US went via there.

  • I went to cancel it as it still had the status "no delivery estimate" and only 12 hours later it has been marked as shipped and I cannot cancel.. very suss

    • Hmmm wonder if I should try it too

      • Would be interesting to see if yours immediately gets shipped aswell

    • It hadn't shipped after 10 days?

      • Ordered on 01/09

Is there some way I can return this item when it gets here on "Oct 2nd"?

  • Mine has finally been shipped today, ETA 22/9.

    • i ordered mine on the 02/09 and it hadnt shipped as of 16/09 and i messaged amazon about it, they said to cancel the original order and put in an new order at the inflated price and pay the expedited delivery which they will refund the full difference including delivery, which i did. 2 days later the new order still hasn't shipped and im getting kind of annoyed at Amazon UK.
