Big +1 to raise the visibility of your comment. Would jump at this if metric, but otherwise it's a very expensive set of PH bits for me.

    • Damn. And thanks for calling out. Why are they doing imperial via the AU store?

    • That only matters for the sockets (4 pieces out of 35.)

edit: not sure this is the exact same product listing but it looks correct

      Four (4) Impact Ready Socket Adapters (3/8", 7/16", 1/2" 9/16")

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed two for $30.24 with code APPONLY10 through the app. Not sure if targeted it popped up for me.

Purchased these before and every piece from the small yellow box had either snapped, chipped or threaded inwards on my impact… They are as Crep as the Irwin bits that was not manufactured to spec

Little concerned that this is frequently bought together with a mr potato head…

    • Love the Amazon data matching

Ah, I saw this set in bunning on clearance, but the sockets are imperial so I thought the set was a waste of time, still do.

My tale of woe about imperial and metric sockets.

I built an LS1 V8 engine back in the day, using ARP headbolts. ARP is an American go-fast parts builder, and their head bolts are reusable (GM bolts are stretch to yield bolts).

Whilst the LS1 is an American General Motors engine, it is built in metric tooling.

The head bolts came, and I installed them. When I needed to take the heads off, I grabbed a 13mm socket and tried to remove them. I rounded 3 bolts before realising something was wrong. Turns out the ARP bolts were metric thread but with an imperial head. I should have been using a 1/2” socket.

12.7mm vs 13mm. Not much in it, but it made a huge difference when you are talking extreme torque.

I was a bit dismayed about now having a head clamped to the block, but they were surprisingly easy to drill out https://youtu.be/KGR3AgHFQVs

Moral of the story: Don’t use metric and imperial in place of one another, even if they seem like a fit
