If you're referring to the interior colour, they come in both black and white, the one provided in this deal has a black interior even though the main image shows white.
Display size would be a useful metric in the title
I realise it's in the details. Decent price for this model.

What is it with Dell's love affair with Intel? Where are all the decent AMD Ryzen laptops?
Give them time. After AMDs mobile chips being crap for years it has some inertia.
"no one was ever fired for buying intel"
I think you just answered your first question with the second.
I think you need a history lesson:

Is this good for the price. Not looking for gaming and not a big fan of smaller screens. I need to use for work mainly large excel files and some basic Photoshop edits. I found this vostro as well.
https://www.dell.com/en-au/work/shop/cty/pdp/spd/vostro-15-7…Better deals with other manufactures, such as Lenovo and HP in relation to their business grade laptops, if all you are going to be doing is Excel and Photoshop. The i7-1065G7 is slower then the mid tier AMD R5 4500u and has been posted all over Ozbargain.
This is a small screen and honestly probably overpowered & overpriced for what you require.
With low spec requirements the question you should be asking yourself is:
- How nice of a screen do I need;
- How much battery life do I need; and
- What type of build quality can I live with.Depending on the answer, we can give you a better suggestion.
That Vostro doesn't look too bad at all actually. This XPS or the Vostro for Photoshop, Premiere and Audio Editing on the go?
You are comparing the Vostro, with a 14nm 45w TDP processor and a 1650ti DGPU against the XPS, with a 10nm 15W processor and no DGPU. The Vostro is going use a lot more battery power with that configuration vs XPS. No way would it be recommended to use the Vostro as a daily driver without easy access to a power socket.
Thanks for reply lads. I got Dell desktop PC around 10 years old which still works fine(only changed ram to 8gb and ssd last year. Now I just need good laptop around 1500 range.
Definitely need good screen as I do work outside some times. 15" preferred
Battery: 4-5 hours on battery should be enough.
Nice processor, upgradable RAM and Storage for the future as m planning to keep it for few years. Thanks in advance and enjoy the sunshine if in Melbourne.
In fact binglee has a better price - https://www.binglee.com.au/lenovo-81tk002yau-ideapad-c340-14…
Thanks J going for this one.
https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/lenovo-ideapad-s540-156-inche…$1244 on the goodguys commercial site, down from $1649. Not sure if it’s a good price still?
If this is the one released at the end of 2019 - BEWARE - MAGLEV keys (apple 2019 butterfly clones) make typing impossible.
Otherwise, great laptop. But if you want to type fast and accurately forget it.
Do they have these newer XPS models in black? Silver seems to be the default these days for XPS.
I've got the XPS 13 (9365) in black, still a great laptop so I won't be upgrading yet anyway.
