It's currently the same price at Officeworks, if you want to get your hands one right now

Also seems like a crappy deal considering upcoming Prime Day offers for the Paperwhite.

      • What's the deal gonna be? it's currently 179 now and I'm considering it

Prime Day isn't until the start of October, but I'd expect it to be $139-$149, with other retailers matching.

There'll be cashbacks, and maybe some coupons as well.

        • Same here, I'm eyeing an Oasis. Been looking for info on prime day 2020 but so far nothings been announced yet. Anyone knows if there will be sales on the Oasis too?

That's 2019 version with 4GB storage. The ones Amazon is selling 8GB of storage. $10 more for twice amount of storage and newer gen.

    • It is the 2020 variant with 8GB storage, not the 2019 one.

OW is also offering the 2020 variant with 8GB storage for $124 C&C, but some limited availability.

  • I have got this one for $129 from amazon about couple months ago. Such a great eReader.

not buying until they support audible books in au.

    • Isn’t there a way around that?

I have an older model Kindle Paperwhite and I love it, but second time around I'd consider a Kobo for library connectivity. I'm not sure what e-book availability is like from the libraries though.
In case there's any confusion, the model in this deal is not a PaperWhite. It's the model below. Differences between the models can be found at the bottom of the page accessed from the deal link.

    • Kobo has a fantastic library, always find everything I'm after. They also price beat other retailers, including Amazon.

Some publishers like J-Novel Club also release their epubs DRM free on their site, so you can just drag and drop.
