How are these compared to Ozito?

    • +4

      lol

    • +7

Dewalt is top of the line, Ozito is bottom of the line

      • +13

        XU1 exists.

    • +2

All honesty, I feel while ozito brushless aren't quite at the same level as these, they're not as far apart as some people would have you believe.

      • er no, just no.

In saying that I use my ozito drill quite a bit, but its night and day compared to my dewalt.

        • +1

It's somewhat subjective, I still feel that the gap between the brushed and brushless ozito is larger than brushless ozito and brushless DeWalt.

        • agreed. They are far apart. I have DeWalt, Makita, Bosch Blue, Ryobi, Ozito and even Taurus…
I'm not against Ozito, but they don't come close to DeWalt, Bosch, Milwaukee, Makita etc.

I feel like they don't build them as well as they used to. They've reduced the quality for mass market / supermarket Bunnings type sales compared with say 20 years ago.

The difference between these and Ozito is not as large as people make it out to be. It would be different if it were their old industrial products.

I found Hilti products still to be quite decent.

      • +1

Hilti is the best, when I'm buying a tool that I want to last its Hilti and Festool

      • nah this isn't Makita. Makita have definitely gone downhill. DeWalt still make amazing tools at very high quality.

@The CTA - if you’re genuinely asking then here’s my response:
    - if you’re just wanting something for DIY around the house / odd jobs then Ozito is fine. I’ve got the models up from these from Dewalt (combo that has the 6ah Flexvolt) and it’s good, but probably not necessary for here and there work.

Us Melb's can't go into a Bunnings store for another few weeks :(

  • What is the low speed control on the impact driver like? I have an Ozito and basically it doesn't have a low speed, it jumps to fast and very fast with a slight press of the trigger. It means you can easily strip small screws, making it almost useless for delicate jobs like assembling Ikea furniture, etc.

almost useless for delicate jobs like assembling Ikea furniture, etc.

Not made for such purpose. Get a electric screwdriver for that, definitely nothing with impact in the title when you want delicate handling

and get the right bits. Found out the hard way when my DeWalt impact destroyed a Ryobi bit I had.

      • I was putting up blinds with the Ozito brushless impact driver and even with pilot holes and driving at the lowest speed it stripped screws. I stopped and just used a manual driver to do the job.

Conversely, I also have the Ozito brushless drill driver, that can go really low speed with good trigger control.

As I said to spludgey below, my impact driver maybe faulty as even with the slightest trigger pressure it still pretty fast.

Ozito brushless? If so, I have to definitely disagree, you can get that thing down to maybe 5 rpm.

      • Yes I have the brushless model. The slowest speed ~ 100 rpm (no load). From what you say, I'm now to starting to wonder if it is faulty.

I also have the Ozito brushless drill driver, with that I have plenty of trigger control at very low speed.

  • oof. I got the 796/887 combo for $200 last year. Charger and battery included…

    • +1

+1, got the same combo last year for $200. good value. 796 works better then my AEG hammer Drill.

      • yep, they're awesome units
