  • Amazon should start selling fresh roast beans at a price similar to Aldi, they would do a roaring trade with free prime delivery

    • They are, see the above deal

      • Not fresh.. Lavazza beans are usually months old, Aldi are usually roasted within 2-3 weeks and for $12 are quite acceptable

        • oh, i see what you mean now. I find so long as they're freshly ground it doesn't matter too much when they were roasted.

I do like that aldi coffee with the blue label though. I don't recall the name, but i think it's the one you're talking about.

        • how do you know that?
I've never seen a roast date on the Aldi ones

          • @dbun1: BB date is 1 year 3 months, thats how you check

        • +1

There is a date in reverse (yymmdd) near the Best Before Date. Apparently that may be the roast date of the Aldi Lazzio coffee beans.

  • I subscribed to Rossa for $11, does this mean that it's always $11 or will they charge me full price next month?

    • +1

No, you'll be charged whatever the going price is at the time.

      • so long as they don't go above the price at coles i'll be happy. delivery is free and i don't have to remember to buy it when i'm at the shop…

  • Good for the European elderly folk that like their coffee strong.

    Bring out Bialetti caffettiera!

It's worth stumping up the extra $5 for grinders coffee imo.

    • +2

i like lavazza more than grinders

      • +1

        Same here :)

    • agree - tried a few of the Aldi options, using a manual grinder and aeropress results in much finer grind requiring a lot of extra force to plunge

      • That's what the grind adjustment is for… Different beans, altitude, farming and picking methods, different roast profile and humidity and many other factors affect how the beans should be ground for a specific use.

  • It says
    Date First Available : 22 May 2018

does it mean they might have been on shelf over one year?

    • no, its when the product was first made available for purchase and appeared on amazon

  • Dispatched within 1 to 2 months… Lol

  • Also, illy is cheap. But I'm sure its not 1.5kg otherwise that is a bargain.

    • That's ground coffee + "Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months. "

      • My bad, there's also beans.

Some of us don't mind the wait as long as its a bargain.

Thanks I ordered the 3000g of whole beans. If it turns up as only one 250gm can, full refund.. can't lose.
