Hi Ozbargainers,

Another lighting deal for a HDD docking/Cloning station supports both 3.5 and 2.5 drives. Can't really comment on the quality.

Heres cut and paste from wavlink

The Wavlink Dual Bay HDD / SSD Storage Docking Station ST334U allows you to quickly install and access SATA drives, which is the ideal solution for data recovery, drive imaging and test centers or any environment that requires fast access to unmounted/archive drives.

  • Packaged with a 36W power adapter for easy 2 x 10TB power requirements. The LEDs show the status of the copy process at a glance, including HDD status and cloning progress.

Does it have a setting for crumpets?

Not natively, you will have to use a knife to fetch them out.

I've got an inateck version of this and they are really handy. The standalone clone function has been used more often than I thought. A hand device for on the fly back ups and file transfers when nuking your system.

  • Can it just be used to access two external drives???

It looks identical to my orico one and with that one you can. You just put 2 drives in there, plug it in to your computer and they become external USB drives, haven't had any problems with using it that way

      • is there no dust/ static issue with the HDD exposed with no cover?

      • Do you have a link for the orico one you have?

I have one of these and it does not seem that you can. I explicitly purchased one for this exact function but it seems to only be able to mount one drive. The 2nd slot is purely used for the clone function. Luckily I rarely need to access both drives at once and just swap the 2nd drive into the primary slot when I need to access the data.

    got one, thanks op!

  • These docks are great then you can load up on cheap HDDs from CEX and have a lot of storage for quite little. Shucked fresh HDDs are even better.

  • Got one, Thanks OP!

    Cool. Got one!

  • Do you have to have the same HDD capacity in order to clone your hard disk? For example, If you have 250 GB hard disk but all data contained in the hard disk is about 80 GB, can i use 120 GB HDD to clone the data or do I have to have another 250 GB HDD to clone it?

    • Usual way requires you to shrink the 250GB partition to <120GB, then do the transfer. I'm unsure if this device has some way around that.

  • I know the deal has expired but just saying that I got one of these back in June. Haven't used it to clone - I just needed to access files from a dying HDD after replacing it with a new one. Works absolutely fine for that - straight out of the box.

  • I have one of these wavlinks and they are really handy, and a lot more convenient than the normal enclosures.

  • Yeah great for cloning drives - just be warned you can't use the clone function if it is plugged in via USB. It must be stand-alone for it to work (at least on mine).

  • i dont know why mine was never successfully clone, its always make the both drive (original and clone) become RAW :(
