  • Bought this earlier today at Newstead. Great price

  • Just ordered one for Click and collect to add to the collection.

    • How? Says "This product is not available to buy online."

  • Does anyone know if you can buy the dust collection bag to add on to this?

    • No normally it would be hooked up to a shop vac or similar.

  • Anyone know if you can buy online with gift cards? I couldn't see where to do it.

    • A few days ago I messaged Bunnings about using gift cards online. This is the response I got:
Currently, our gift cards can only be redeemed in stores as it lacks the features to be transact-able online and over the phone. We are working towards developing a new gift card platform that will enable gift cards to be used as a payment method on our website.

I got this from VIC which seems OK

"The gift card doesn’t expire so it can be used for future purchases when restrictions are lifted. However, if you need to make some purchases urgently from our stores, you can make the full payment using your credit or debit card online. Once the Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne are eased and Bunnings is allowed to have customers in store, you can bring your receipt and the gift cards. Our team can do a refund on your purchase to your card, and then re-process the sale using your gift cards and the balance to your credit card."

I heard u can't find the sanding paper bit after the paper is done.. Is that true? Never used these but I am in need of one.

  • Does that come with several pieces of sandpaper too?

    • Apparently 6 sheets, various grit.

  • Been looking at this vs the Ryobi 280W 1 / 3 Sheet Sander
only now 20 dollars difference but not sure of other differences between the two

  • Thanks OP bagged one for some room reno I am going to be doing. One more for the 18+ collection

  • Did a deep dive to find info about what's in the box (unless I'm blind), apparently includes 6 sheets of various grit.

  • Don't know much about Ryobi products. Does it comes with battery pack or you have to buy it separately?

    • +2

whenever you see "skin only" it means the tool, no battery.

Ryobi are decent. I mostly have DeWalt, but Ryobi give a good level of performance for the cost.

  • Any cheaper deals?

  • Ozito 18v used to be even cheaper but that seem to have been removed from site.

This is so niche there is rarely a reason to have this.

If you don't have an electric sander, you should first get the orbital sander.

If you already have an orbital sander, get a multitool / oscillating tool. The sanding pad is the same shape as this and will give pretty much same result, but the multitool is much more versatile.

    • Thanks, I think you just convinced me not to buy this. Is it really only useful for sanding into corners?
What are your recommendations for orbital sanders? I'm already in the Ozito and Ryobi ecosystems.

      • +1

I have the ryobi orbital and can't complain. Don't think you can go wrong with these, they all take the same sanding discs, nothing fancy.

    • +2

      I'd have to agree.
I owned a corner sander for a couple of hours. It couldn't handle just the point being used without the sandpaper detaching, which made it 'point-less' for me (pun unintential but acknowledged).

18v heat gun is a POS. go find a karen and she will blow air hotter and longer.

  • Battery looks expensive @ $75. What's the ozbargain way to get a battery?

    • 2 for $80ish on aliexpress for a generic one. The genuine batteries are a good investment imho if you're a hobbyist looking to build up a set of tools. Ryobi beats every other brand with the sheer number of skins available even if they don't match Milwaukee or blue Bosch in quality.
