ASUS GeForce RTX2070 Super Dual OC EVO $899 Free Delivery @ PLE Computers

140

Cheapest I've seen for local stock of 2070 Super whilst I've been hunting, unsure how it fared in reviews.

Kind of bummed because I pulled the trigger on the MSI RADEON RX 5700 XT EVOKE for $599 and probably would have spent the extra $$ to bag this but ohwell.

Note that other have found cheapers deals:

Centercom has a 2070 super for $779 free shipping

I wouldn't be too bummed, this is a whole $300 more than what you bought.

50% more for like 10-20% improvement.

      • I have a pcie 3 slot on my MSI X470 gaming plus Max. Given that rx 5700xt is pcie 4 and rtx 2070S is pcie 3, which should I go for to get value for money performance?

Built a PC but don't know how to compare given the pcie slot.

        • +1

A 2080Ti barely saturates PCIE3 x8 so neither of these is going to make full use of pci4 or 3 (at x16)

        • +1

PCIe 4.0 is just something the 5700 XT supports, not something it needs or even wants, it's not going to make a difference at all. I'd get the 5700 XT.

Less improvement then that. Surely 10% at the most. Anything more would be on games like CSGO where frames are already so high it doesn't matter.

      • Totally agree.. do you think spending $300 on better CPU or AIO and OC would achieve better results?

        • Biggest bottleneck is GPU, so that's where the most bang for buck is. Next would be ssd and CPU.
I would just go for an air CPU cooler like hyper 212.

If thermals are critical you can undervolt. Optimum Tech on youtube has some good informative videos, he does focus mainly of SFF builds but would still apply to mATX and ATX builds. He even deshrouded a GPU and used the case fans for cooling with good results.

I last built a pc 8 years ago but have become more interested with ryzen, so take my recommendations with a grain of salt.

Edit: btw I really liked Trigun thumbs up

    • Great points, how i've mssed that I dont know. Should remove this bargain?

      • Nah keep it up fam. Still a good deal

      • Yup, keep it. Maybe add the above linked deals as an edit note??

    • This card was $749 just the other day i was pretty sure.. sale must have just ended.

the 2070S is not worth $300 more than a 5700XT… i do understand though that the EVOKE was not a good version of the 5700XT but still .. now you have $300 to spend on the next gen of GPU's (+ what you get if you sell your 5700XT) hehehe

    • The EVOKE is probably a revised model according to someone on here who asked Centrecom, so now it's a good version.

      • Was making the assumption OP has had it a while … so maybe the OG evoke which maybe why they view a $300 premium for similar performance ok … hehehe

Hope your well Rajeh! Been quite on a few deals you’d expect a Rajeh to spawn haha 😂

This is getting too close to 2080S pricing IMO, better to wait a month (not confirmed) for announcement and hopefully not too many months for 3xxx toys.

    • Agree.. but if current runmors are anything to go but new 3090 will be and eye watering $2000 USD!!

      • +1

Check more rumours and you'll come around to the idea that it won't be.

Cards will probably be starting from $1399 at launch, but it's a different class of card to the 3080.

        • +1

Yeah seen both numbers flying around. Will be interesting to see actual RRP vs performance. I think the 3090 will be 2080ti territory/replacement.

hopefully not too many months for 3xxx toys

This is much more expensive than the Galax 2070 super

You would spend $300 more for 5% more performance, on the eve of new GPUs being announced? This doesn't seem like your kind of website.

    • Thank you for talking good sense into me, sir.
