The actual price from IT Estate is $319. If you check the web site, for the special price of $289 you must order with PSU 850W Tsunami ($99 < 5. They are always misleading with prices on Staticice. Where its usually bundled with some other item to get cheaper price.
You need to put shipping in title as it looks like you can't do pickup.
Its not really that cheap considering most of us can get it for a little more locally without postage costs.
Also likely taking advantage of prices dropping because of the 2700 series coming soon.
Prices aren't dropping… only low end SB (Pentium G, i3 2120) will see price drops.

What's the point? i5s are quad core now, and i7s are still quad core. So why spend extra. If it was 6 core, then it could be a good deal. But c'mon, 100 mhz faster than i5-2500 and $100 more? rofl.
i7 has 8 threads (multithreading allows 2 threads per core) so it does have an advantage over the Core i5.
Buddy, you should look into the things you talk about, before you talk about them.
Clock speed and the amount of cores aren't the only things that makes a faster processor.

There's a fair bit of performance increase between the 2500 and the 2600, but not worth the price difference, 2500k is the sweetspot.
posting the socket in the title may also be a convenience (1155)
Why?
ITEstate has this for $299 and the 2500k for $199 a few months back, still kicking myself for not getting one as they went up a short while after and have not come back down. Can't go wrong with it at this price (get the 2500k if you just game and surf though) as you this also gives you an upgrade path for Ivy Bridge.
If you're able to visit the MSY store then you could purchase it for $290 which i did :)
