For those who prefer to buy from Kogan, not that I condone their practises of charging $999 previously.

Think i'd prefer the Xiaomi 34" to this.
Can't make my mind up. Awaiting new GPUs and upgrading monitor too. Keep going from Xiaomi 34" to X34P and other IPS panels, then consider the 49" superwides. To G-Sync or Freesync. I mostly will WFH but also play games (I.e. Cyberpunk, GTA, COD etc. Not competitively though). Someone tell me what to do… I've read too much into it. I like the 3880x1600 option at 38" but they're bloody expensive.
I had the same issues. To me, either you go cheap (i went this route) and the XIaomi 34", or go all out and get the 49" G9 (out of my budget). 34" or 38" IPS are like middle of the pack, but not value for money as they're at least double the price of the Xiaomi. New GPUs wise, need to wait for Big Navi and RTX 3000 series to be both out before you can have any sort of conclusions, so that means at least Oct/Nov for local stock to be available.
how do you find the XIaomi 34"? good for general use and light gaming?
Yup for sure its got true blacks. I don't game much, just AAA and some titles. Its incredible for youtube and movie watching. Great for my purpose, and at $600 by far the best bang for buck piece of equipment I've ever used.
@NotAnAudiophile: This is selling it somewhat. You're right about middle of the ground, its still 2x the price of the Xiaomi. Will it be 2x better for my purposes? And the G9 is out of stock on Government portal at 1.7k, that's 3x. Probably not. This also means, GPU upgrade is more likely to be a new series with less costs on the monitor. I'm coming from a 60hz/2560x1600, so it'll still be a fairly big upgrade. MegaBuy have the refurbed Asus ROG PG349Q, which for $899 is 120Hz, 4ms, 3440x1440, G-Sync. Another option…
@borts16: G9 had all those delaminating issues when they first launched in the US, plus at 240hz, its like a race car with no track to run on.
Extremely hard to find real bargains at Kogan.
better off with the xiaomi. uses same panel as far as i'm aware.
Where can I buy a Xiaomi at this price? Seems like the ebay listing posted a few days ago are sold out already.
I'd say the Xiaomi is better now due to the price however, I couldn't find enough in depth reviews on the Xiaomi whereas this one was covered by the various Nixeus reviews out there
Have this and can say it's a solid monitor. Then again it regularly goes down to $600 so this isn't really a deal. The Xiaomi one is better probably.
If this was the same price as Xiaomi id suggest go for this as it has better in depth reviews but now the Xiaomi can be had for cheaper with an additional 1 year warranty…
The xiaomi monitor has some pretty in-depth reviews regarding its colour accuracy (that I have seen). Longer warranty and cheaper price makes it a better choice over this. After owning xiaomi phones and this kogan monitor I can say with a high level of certainty that the xiaomi monitor would have a better build quality. My kogan monitor has a dead pixel in the bottom right hand corner so I might return it, not looking forward to kogan's support though.
Agreed with Kogan's crappy support… They only accept 2 dead pixels for warranty…
Are you able to share the link to the in depth reviews?
I couldn't see Rtings or TFTCentral type of reviews yet for Xiaomi so wondering if you can share the one you found…
Only 8bit colour so don't expect anything amazing from the HDR
8-bit FRC is what a lot of major brands use as well… Still better than basic 8-bit…
Solid monitor, better than AOC 34 for 880.
This Kogan deal started yesterday. I was looking to buy this yesterday, but finally pulled the trigger on this 4K lenovo monitor for $412 from Lenovo education store.
I mostly need it for coding and some design work, not gaming. So an IPS panel was must for colour quality and super crisp fonts.
Lots of good reviews for this 4K IPS monitor here
Monitor prices have remained steadfastly high for far too long and they pretend they are doing us a favour making a monitor capable of gaming and its ALL BS. These are cheap to make with massive profit margins. This has to change as TVs now are costing less than computer monitors! Nuts
I expect this monitor to soon come on black friday sale but price might be offset with delivery, so keep an eye on it for sure
Does such species exist?
