So the majority of OzB aren't illinformed racist idiots? Great.

CCP do deserve condemnation for their actions, but this is just a decent monitor that is priced well. Not everything has to be political.

Can't we just talk about the product?

    • +3

Unless it's connected to the internet

      • +1

Its a monitor with hdmi and dp.

        No internet connection

    • +3

Why would they, do you have something to hide? If you do the US or Australia would also be monitoring you in many ways. The only way to minimize you being monitored is to live in solitude on a small island.

      • -7

I don't mind being monitored by US or Australia which have democractic and accountable governments

        • +14

Have you not seen what's wrong with the US by now?

        • +12

Really, can you reassure Mr Snowden and Mr Assange?

        • +6

can't comment about all US governments but the current one is definitely not accountable imo.

          • -1

@Tyler Kwok: What makes you think this government is less accountable than previous ones?

          • +2

@Tyler Kwok: The previous administration is much better in the propaganda war and hiding their agenda with misinformation. The Trump administration is not smart in hiding their agenda that is all and is much easy for the world to see. I am not defending China but all governments or administrations are doing the same. Some doing worst than others. The 5 eyes are pro at this.

          • @Tyler Kwok: W. Bush (Jr.) and Cheney? H. W. Bush (Sr.)? There are probably some more.

        • +1

          lol US

      • CIA and associates probably are already tracking CCP and bugging 'our' homes.

    • I also like people to know I am a scientist of data.

      • -4

        cool
        nice to meet you…

        • -1

Sorry I only speak in data.

    • Only if you connect it to those pesky 5g towers - assuming you survive the Covid-19 they've been broadcasting into you.

    • +1

Are you still trying to break most-negged / downvoted record? Lmao.

      • +1

Lol. Nah just ranting. Deserve the negs.

I suspect I'll be banned if i beat that record. (So I think I'll avoid it lol)

p.s. I am mad (data)scientist hououin kyouma. muhahaha

    • You probably use Google Chrome.

  • +1

Is Titan Gears Mobileciti? Both in Parramatta.

    • I hope not

      • +3

Given it proudly states Australian AU stock I have a feeling it is. Feel like everyone who preordered was shafted given this deal is about a week after they actually delivered stock.

    • +2

Pretty sure Titan Gear is a subsidiary store for Wireless1. The listing is identical to W1's

      • They also had identical eBay listing / stock when I was looking up their Tile Listing.

  • +6

Let's stop beating around the bush. are this monitors good or not? Does anyone have one? Anyone know links to reviews?

      • bing is better

        • For adult content? Sure.
          For anything else? Nah.

      • -4

There's plenty of reviews and commentary on previous posts; you're just lazy.

        • +1

What exactly do you think the OZB comment section is for?

          • -1

@Jimbuscus: Not for people to ask dumb questions that's for sure.

    • +5

Bought one from Allphone. It's great for the money. I upgraded from a AOC 27" 1080p IPS 60Hz. Build quality is excellent. Really like the cable management. Colour is accurate but not as vibrant as my IPS.

Ghosting is quite apparent on this monitor. So although it's a 144Hz monitor, the images still a little blurry especially in fast FPS games like Overwatch. Having said that, it's still a big improvement over my 60Hz IPS monitor.

      • For office work (excel/word) or websites, are the texts/words clear to see? Thanks

        • +4

Yes, texts for Excel & web browsers are crisp clear. Texts are pretty small at 100% windows scale setting; I adjusted my setting to 125% scale in Windows to improve legibility.

    • I have mine from last deal for replacing 2 x 27 inch dell.
      Good price good monitor

  • Can vouch for titan store. Have had a few purchases from there and no hassles. Next day dispatch.

  • +2

Is the only difference between this and the locally dispatched Banggood one at $576.62 the quality of returns etc?

    • +8

No band 28 on the Banggood one ;)

      • +1

        I hate that I laughed

  • Is the warranty any good here? 2 years is not bad…

  • Description states DPx2.
    Is this:
    - passthrough DP?
    - an optional connection to two separate sources simultaneous (screen split)?
    - a second switchable input?
    Same question for HDMI…

  • +2

    https://youtu.be/vVqfuvUGPZU

    Same panel as this one

    • -2

      How do you know ?

      • +4

He's right, there is only 1 144hz VA 34" UW, shared by Kogan/Nixeus/AOC/XIaomi. Its made by Samsung.

        • -3

Ok panel might be the same but there should still be differenceces between each of those monitors

  • Does anyone know whether you can set up split screen (picture in picture) programmaticly?

    • -2

This is why I prefer have 2 good monitors instead of an Ultrawide

      • +1

Yeah good job not answering this persons question, btw this monitor does support picture in picture along with split displays so your point is moot.

    • Own this monitor and it does support that

      • Can you plug 2 different PCs and display it as split screen (picture by picture)?

        • +1

          yes

  • What is the advantage of curved? I haven't bought a monitor in years, before curved was even a thing. I feel like this is just a pointless gimmick.

How does it help with office productivity?

Or is it better to invest in 2 screens side by side?

    • +2

VA panel usually have bad visibility when viewed from the side. Curved monitor solved this by warping the panel around you, and making it facing your straight on all the time. I personally have great experience when using this for programming or general Word and Excel works. The extra horizontal space means I can open two windows side by side without they looking squished.

As for 2 vs 1, 2 side by side in theory is better. But for someone like me who has limited space on my desk, one single monitor just works better and feels better(less clutter).
