    • Wow you are fast. Cheers

  • Anyone got one? What are they like? How big a lawn can you mow on a charge?

I got one. It can just finish my 400sqm blue couch grass lawn if I only use the self propelled function when going up hills (about 25%). I ended up buying a line trimmer kit (comes with a 2.6mAh battery) just so I can use the self propelled function all the time. I first mow with the 2.6mAh battery, when the charge runs out I put it on the fast charger (included with mower) and use the mower's 5.0mAh, then after doing the lawn the 2.6mAh would be charged again to use on edging and around trees.

    • This should be able to do the average house front and back

  • Any way to tell the usual retail price or whether they are available at other Bunnings stores?

Thanks OP, appears to be a decent deal for a self-propelled model.

It was $749 when I bought it March last year. But couldn't remember if it was on sale back then.

      • Not the same model

Got mine, an earlier model (5.0 Ah) 18 months ago $799, this listed in ryobi site also $799. Can do medium size lawn front and back buffalo grass with one charge. Remember to register online to get extra 2y warranty make it total 6 years (battery 3 years). Take a digital copy of the receipts.

  • I have used one and it was good for regular lawns, if its overgrown and you need a second charge you have a wait because the charger has no fan and the battery may need to cool down before it recharges, then the charger is a little slow.

  • Thanks OP and others for the feedback. Local store had 8 on display, so managed to lug one to the car.

Model number is RLM36X51SP and is listed at $799 on Ryobi website. It's a newer model released last year and has very little review information available online. But the 6.0A battery and 51cm coverage bode well, so hopefully it's up to the task compared to the smaller sized and batteried models which attract mixed reviews, especially from people with larger or thicker and longer lawns.

They also had the 82V 2.0A 18" Victa on sale at $599 (or the 82V 21" Victa with 2 x 2.0A batteries available at the non-sale price of $929) which reviews suggest have more grunt than the Ryobi 36V series, but neither are self-propelled which was the main reason for my interest. My Mrs whines enough as it is… ;p

  • Picked one up today. Thanks OP. Looks like a great piece of kit. Bunnings had the RRP listed as $799.

  • how does self propelled function work. like the robot vacuum cleaner

  • How many did you see?

Still pretty expensive, but then again I feel like that battery is worth $200 alone ..

    I myself have the 36v Ozito https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/230673

4 Years old and the battery is still giving me at least 25mins of runtime!

I reckon bunnings see's sales of lawn mowers move up and down as seasons pass !
