    note : HDMI 2.0 not 2.1

    • -1

Which, unless you've got both a source and sink that support the 2.1 spec, is irrelevant.

  • Ta, was just looking at HDMI cables

This is the fourth time now I've ordered this brand cable from Amazon Au, they are that damn good.

would you know if the standard ones that come with console like PS4 pro, Xbox, performers poorly compared to these?

If your current one works fine, then no point changing….

Awesome. thanks! Just wanted to make sure I get the best out of it. :D

I mean HDMI cables are mostly the same. Main difference is the specification (1.4/2.0/2.1 etc) and the build quality, performance will be pretty negligible within the same spec. I run a weird setup of splitters/repeaters so it's more pedantic that the cables are higher quality/better spec so performance doesn't degrade.

I would say your PS4 Pro and Xbox One X cables would be the same sort of thing as this product. Standard Xbox One/Switch cables probably not due to being HDMI 1.4 spec (I'm assuming).

I run one of these from my PS4 Pro and don't notice any difference compared the the standard cable it came with.

Thanks for the input! Just wanted to make sure I get the most of it as I've been a Nintendo gamer for the longest time and just recently got a PS4 Pro and want to make sure I am getting the 4K that other mighty console owners have been clamouring about.

Just curious about your setup, as I'm looking for a longer HDMI run to connect my PC to 4K TV on other side of my study. I've been researching repeaters, longer cables, HDMI to optic(which is $$$); as well as the cable version required for using the highest refresh/FPS.

          • @happykamper: Currently I'm running a 5 meter 2.0 cable (similar to the one in this post) around my room (under bed, through closet lol), that is attached to a splitter at my desk end so I can hook in my PC/PS4 Pro/Switch from this side. Then I've got a switch that toggles that splitter between my TV and main monitor so I can play on either one! I recently added a signal booster to this setup at the start of the 5 meter TV cable which seems to have helped heaps too.

Any questions let me know, took me ages to find a good quality splitter but the one I linked has been the first one that hasn't died on me and actually supports HDR etc :)

    • Definitely need more DP deals around these parts

Are we talking about display port or..

  • 28AWG is pretty thin too, especially for 5M length

    • I'm guessing that's a bad thing?

      • pretty much means thin shitty cable

        • 28 gauge is fine for anything 5m or less

  • anyone looked at the weight of this 5m wonder cable… of course description does state different lengths as well…. I have heavier 1 metre cables….
