Three Months Free Peacock TV Premium for Google Users (VPN Required)

190

So I used a VPN to sign up to Peacock TV. The next day I got an email from Google offering 3 months with a coupon the day after.

I guess they are sharing data.

Having trouble connecting Peacock TV with a VPN. The app and web browser is locked down pretty hard. Currently on Surfshark and tried a few us servers. No dice.

I couldn't get it working with SurfShark on my Samsung tablet or phone. it kept picking up on my location.

Support was really good, though. So,i can't fault them for that.

    • Chatting with support now trying to get it to work.

      • Did you manage to have any luck?

        • Downloaded the Peacock TV APK on my Vodafone tv, set it to Latham US and boom. It works.

  • After signup, do you need to keep using the vpn to watch the service?

  • Free peacock?

    Yes!

    Hornberger!

  • Peacock knew I was using a VPN (PureVPN) so I wasn't able to take advantage of this. I might contact them to see if something can be sorted out.

  • works fine on my tablet but no luck getting a TV apk that works (Sony/Android).

    • which apk source? 1.0.8 from apkmirror and 1.0.6 from aptoide just crashes the app out

      • +1

1.0.4 from Aptoide works fine for me.

  • Worked for me, downloaded the Peacock APK from APK mirror and signed up via app with a gmail address.

  • There are more streaming services now than free to air TV channels. Those of you who were children in the 70s or 80s imagine telling your parents back then that they'd have to pay $10-$15 per TV channel. The dream of a single cheap streaming service being all you need has been dead for the best part of a decade now. It's gotten as bad as cable.

    • actually.. the free-to-air apps for Ch7/9/10/abc/sbs are fairly decent. Anyone (grandparents) still using standard FTA tower channels direct on tv aerials are jipping themselves.

      • I live in an area with bad reception and the cover on my booster has broken off after maybe 20 or so years causing it to fail when there is moisture. So I've quite recently been playing with those apps to determine whether they are a suitable free replacement. They aren't. Some channels require you to create an account and sign on to them any time you want to view, others don't. It isn't seamless like the antenna, and I don't want to create and manage multiple accounts for my primary school aged children. SO no, they're not "fairly decent". They're a pain in the rear.

        • Takes 5mins to create a 'spare' email account with an easy password purely to use on such things and other signups where you dont want to give out your real details.. your loss really

          • @dsp26: A toddler can use a TV remote. Can your average toddler sign up for a spare email account and use a password safe?

            • @syousef: mine don't need to. once the apps are signed in, leave them signed in. the toddlers can navigate which apps they want

              • @dsp26: Ok you want to believe that a bunch of logins and web sites are just as easy as a TV remote for a toddler, fine, that's up to you. I'm tired of arguing stupid obvious crap with people who have time to write a book on it on OzB.

                • -1

@syousef: are you thick and just full of excuses? no one said anything about your toddlers logging in.

                  1) YOU create an email and logins
                  2) YOU download the apps and login to them ONCE and LEAVE them logged in
                  3) Your toddlers just use it, NO NEED to login.. they just open the app and play with channels

                  • +1

@dsp26: Eh a few log you out at times. Hella annoying.

                  • @dsp26: 1) I was pointing out it wasn't as simple as a TV where the toddler doesn't need an account. I wasn't seriously suggesting the toddler sign up.
                    2) Logins don't persist forever.
                    3) And when you're at work and the login expires, mummy deals with the tears? Yeah great plan.

  • OK can't get this to work on android. The crashing app was caused by having root and unlocked bootloader (ctsProfile = false) and doesnt work when trying to hide via magisk.

as for expressvpn, can't get it to work on mrs unrooted pixel either on any US location but seems to work on desktop fine just via DNS/Mediastreamer method.. on chat with them now, they insist it should work with all west coast servers

also don't need a gmail address to get the 3mth offer… got it on my own business domain using zoho servers.

  • works on pixel 2xl with magisk hide
but cant play any videos using getflix as says something about "something went wrong. it looks like you dont meet the us roaming rules"
