this or the ryzen 5 4000 series CPU?

personally i think if you dont need nvidia graphics card nor thunderbolt then ryzen 4000 series

    • The Lenovo X13 (AMD) would be the way to go for me. You can get a touch panel 300 nits screen plus many other upgrades for around $1600 with the current INTRO coupon.

      buy this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/551294

      cheaper and more premium line

      • It's not a more premium line. They're both pretty equal.

    • I was told the AMD Pro 4750U outperforms the i7-10510U by a long mile.
So I pulled the trigger on the new T14 AMD.

Here's the comparison between the two processors:

4 cores and a joke of a gpu for this kind of money?

        ridiculous

also this sounds like complete buggery for a home user laptop: Absolute BIOS Selection : BIOS Absolute Disabled Special Bid

        • it wouldnt make really much difference having more cores since there's 8 threads, still expensive tho

          • @Understandable: Nah. Disagree.

AMD have 8c/16t and 8 real cores beats 4c/8t all things being equal.

Hyperthreading has always been fakery compared to real cores.

@Understandable: Sorry but you are completely incorrect. The 7nm Ryzen 4750u with 8c/16t will blow away the Intel 14nm Comet Lake i7 10510u with 4c/8t, whilst consuming less power. You can have a look at the 4800u, which is similar spec, without the businesses grade features. AMD's SMT(Hyper-threading) is much better than Intel's at the moment.

        • Hi @tonyjzx, please pardon this ignorant post of mine since I'm close to IT illiterate.
So you're saying T14 AMD 4750U is better than the X13 model posted in this deal. Is it correct?

Else, I'll cancel my T14 AMD model and look for sth else.

          Thanks in advanced!

@motui302: The laptops are largely the same thing apart from the 14 vs 13.3" display….

Both can use the same CPUs… if you choose the same cpus you're just getting functionally the same cpu in a different screen size.

Obviously if you choose and 8 core cpu over a 6 core well then the 8 core is superior but its like saying a V8 car is better than a V6 car…. avg. person may not see a difference in their day to day.

If you're travelling day to day then the 13" would be better.

            • @tonyjzx: Thanks alot, tonyjzx. My work is data intensive so I was looking for the best CPU possible.

Your reply re-assures me that T14 AMD was the right choice.
Thanks heaps. Really appreciate the advice since most of my appeals for help have been falling onto deaf ears.
              Cheers.

            • @tonyjzx: Btw, your remark regarding the BIOS selection is applied to the current X13 deal, not the T14 AMD. Is it correct? I have no idea what it means, so it gets me concerned. Thanks.

  • Has this deal finished? I'm not seeing this price…
