Weird, what kinda of battery life are you getting? Maybe there's a ton of MSI bloatware? If so, would be interesting to see what it's like if it were a clean W10 install.
Same price at CPL for pickup https://cplonline.com.au/laptops-notebooks/msi-laptops/msi-m…
even cheaper here, $1,099 + $17 delivery = $1,116..
Is the power button located right next to the backspace?
Power button is that big round button above F7, between the speakers.
Why does MSI refer to display as IPS Level?
Is it IPS or just very close to IPS?
Display 14.0" FHD (1920x1080), IPS-Level
It's not IPS but it's a very decent screen, viewing angles are great but not as vibrant and even as IPS would be. I also like the fact that it doesn't have the type of anti-glare coating that makes it look bluish/purple like my DELL laptop screen or the touchscreen on my Thinkpad.
Usually means TN panel.
I have the older MSI PS42 Modern 8RC model and I love it, I would buy another one without any hesitation. Screen is great (I like it much more than my work laptop screens), the laptop is lightweight and has plenty of grunt for everyday use.
The only niggling issues are the "nose camera" (webcam under the screen, WHY?) and the keyboard backlight (lettering blends into the silver keys with lights off, a little bit better with lights on but I would prefer either black lettering or white keys for better contrast.) My version also has a fingerprint sensor which works well only about 70% of the time. Oh, and no Thunderbolt port.
Also note that if you want to upgrade the NVMe, you have to remove the entire motherboard as user serviceability wasn't a focal point for this laptop :(
I have this laptop. Great screen super light weight. However horrible battery life.
