iPhone 12 is coming out with 128gb base storage, why get this now over $150 and also get 64gb and last gen technology, such small storage for such a largely priced phone, I got a iPhone 11 Pro max at launch with $500 off deal at jbhifi and opted for 256gb storage because 64gb wasn't gonna cut it for such a expensive phone.
EDIT: and iPhone 12 is gonna be same RRP as a iPhone 11, AND iPhone XS price got cut after iPhone 11 launched! So this phone might even be $900 when iPhone 12 comes out!

Good points, and also 5G in iPhone 12. 5G will have extra value.

      • So true! so much extra bang for your buck! Over $150 it isn't worth this phone at all, especially with 64gb base storage

  • Not happy with my iphone 11. I am with a Telstra and regularly having drop out issues with both calls and data. Never an issue with previous iPhones.

    • Did you try going to the Apple Store to try fix this issue?

      • No. I’ve done all the recommended troubleshooting but nothing seems to have improved. Reading on the Telstra forums some people have changed phones multiple times without improvement. I’ll just wait till the new one comes out and hope I no longer have this issue.

        • when the new iPhone comes out you should ask Telstra to swap as compensation your phone with the new one

        • Recommended by who?

          • @MrMaxwell: Apple support and others on various forums. The phone is still usable, but I have never had an iphone as unreliable as this one

            • +2

@unity1: You should certainly swap it at an Apple Store…make sure you have some call examples of dropped/repeated calls.

iPhone 11 uses intel LTE modems which is known has poor performance.

      • +1

One of the reasons why I dumped it several months ago. I had really unreliable calls made on these phones.

    • That’s bad you should take to the Apple store

  • get the next iphone, 4g phone will have little resell value next year

    • +2

I'd rather have a 4g phone to be honest.Cheaper and it seems like 5g at the moment currently eats battery ridiculously fast

      • Thankyou for your honesty

      • So maybe the xs is better for the moment?

      • +1

And they heat up more too, thermal management of the batteries is going to be a problem with 5G phones.

    • +3

Disagree - 5G coverage is pretty patchy in Australia, even in the capital cities. And most people don't really want/need it yet.

I strongly doubt 4G vs 5G will be a genuine factor in phone sales for another 12 months.

      • Good to find someone in the thread that knows the crappy 5G coverage .
Waste of time in current environment .

  • Cheers Thriver! Still a decent discount for those looking to buy a iPhone 11 Pro.

  • F !!! That's cheap

  • +1

Is it best to buy the iPhone 11 outright as above and then go on a BYO plan, or are the 24 month plans with Telstra best value? I currently have the iPhone 8 and am on a BYO plan but want to upgrade to the 11.

    • best to wait until sept/oct for iphone 12, to late in the cycle now & prices are still at highs

  • Reckon officeworks will do price beat?

    • +2

Their customer care did it over phone although reluctantly.

    • +1

      OW price reduced now.

      • Didn't take them long. Well done on getting in quick

  • I just noticed that these have dropped an extra $50

    • Wow.

  • Is this in anticipation of iPhone 12? Meaning this will be the new normal for the 11, considering the 12 will take the price of it's predecessor. Or can we expect this to drop even further after the release of 12.
