A wet hole you throw money into!?

  • Do I have to own a boat to buy this?

  • Why paid to add more wt and drag into your vehicle. I ripped all mine out.

I don't understand why people drive round with the frames that advertise where they bought the car. You've paid them enough to get the car, they don't give you money off for advertising - take them off!

      • To be fair, I don’t know how to take it off without damaging the plate. Been always wanted to put in a screened one.

        • +2

Just remove the two screws holding on the plate, take it off and remove it from the frame. Five minute job of which four are used trying to find the screwdriver.

          • @banana365: are there nuts on the other side of the plate? last thing i want is that being held on by nuts and once i unscrewed those, the nuts falls inside of the rear door panel….

@slowmo: No, there are threaded holes in the skin of the vehicle. On the occasional vehicle I've seen without them there are usually threaded plastic inserts that are wedged in place. If they were to fall, they'd fall outwards.

              • @banana365: thanks! will give it a go after i get a replacement frame/screen. :)

                • @slowmo: I'm not sure of the plate designs in all states, but in the ones I'm aware of you don't need a frame at all. The plate screws directly to the car and its the plate that holds the frame rather than the other way round.

Yes, the first thing that I do with all my new cars are to remove all the advertising. Back windscreen and plate holders.

    Anyone got a R33 weekend car? :P

  • Can you fix them upside down so you don't look like such a dick?
