Have had my eyes on this washing machine for a while and now it is even cheaper than with last week's 15% off for first responders at JB and Good Guys.
Next closest price to this is $839.

had bad experiences with Samsung fridge what are they're washers like?
Do NOT buy unless they've fixed the galvanic corrosion issues between the drum and spider arm.
I doubt they have.. It seems like planned obsolescence rather than an engineering flaw due to how long they kept doing it.
Intentionally mixing metals guarantees rust and failure, likely around 5 years iirc.
There's no need to do this. Reputable manufacturers don't.
I can't neg deals until 23rd July due to retarded ozb rules or I would draw people's attention to this issue. Another fine example where's ozb bans hurt everyone but the person they are put on.
I have one (an earlier model 8.5kg) that's 10 years old. Maybe I'm getting extra time because it doesn't get heavy use.
The first one I got I felt was too noisy when pumping (it's advertised as being quiet), so I got it replaced straight away. It's been good since.
One thing worth considering is wether you want the washing machine to heat the water, or for it to use your hot water service's water (which might be cheaper due to off peak or solar). The one I got doesn't have a hot water connection - it heats itself which means it's at peak power rates.
Yes I have heard about this and agree it's a very poor design. However I have been lucky so far. Had a 7.5kg Samsung since 2013 and so far so good. I'm not too worried as I only paid $580 for the machine (prices have gone up a bit), so when it dies, I've got enough time out of it. Previously had a $1600 Asko that barely made 7 years before the whole computer broke meaning it wouldn't complete a cycle, heat water, was going to cost $500 to fix.
So far, the Samsung has been cheaper to run. Never buying an expensive machine again.
My Samsung is quiet, doesn't move, rarely goes out of balance, takes on enough water (my Asko would have the clothes half dry for the most of the cycle), heats properly, spin is quiet and fast. I can't really fault the Samsung.
It also has a great Daily Wash cycle which allows nearly full load around 1 hour duration. Some machines only seem to have a 15 min cycle or 2 hour options only.
My Samsung has also lasted just over 7 yrs and it's finally on its way out, heard a big back and was getting some metal cutting or something stuck to the washing. It's still running and only goes crazy load on last 3 min spin. I'm told it's more likely the spider mount part or whatever and best to just look for new machine.
I was tempted to get this listed but bugger look at the price and what it is now, why do things break down when there are no deals.
I have no experience of these guys but do they offer the free delivery, install and take away old machine?
The other place I got my last Samsung machine did this but have no stock.
Anyway share there experiences with these guys. Do they often offer such discounts?
Pretty much all washers have aluminum spider and stainless drum.
Most broken spiders are caused by doing cold washes all the time and using fabric softner as it causes the caustic cleaner to stick on everything.
Do a "maintenance wash" with hot water every few weeks and don't use fabric softner and your spider will be happy.
I have a samsung and its lasted 7yr 2 months just few days back i asked for honest opinion on what's wrong with it by saying what was wrong by facebook pm. Both said was spider arm corrosion thing and be best replace machine.
Im pretty sure my machine had good reviews when i got it and maybe a price to match.
But 7 yrs on the feedback is crap probaby due to more feedback over the years.
And many had one of two issues i think an e3 error and the spider arm.
Looking into it is common on Samsung. But looking into it lots of other brands have same set up not just samsung.
You say others dont have this issue with mixing the metals who are they as i have read bosch and lg cant remember who else do same.
As i got 7 plus years from my Samsung if if got same again i be happy but obviously longer is better.
But to be honest i not found the perfect mid price machine yet as there are always a few lemons that people get which sometimes are low but at times puts me off a machine.
I was told lg as comes with 10yr warranty but they are low in the ranks for best to worse in washing machine front loaders. Bosch seem ok but there are many who had issues and did not like, not just that there cable seems short and they look cheap by pics i seen. F&P i thought was a good brand here turns out they are not great.
To be honest never thought buying a washing machine would be hard. Haier i think they are called seem to have good feedback but then its pretty new brand and maybe not much people have had issues yet so early days.
I reckon if a crazy good deal came along right now would grab regardless of brand etc. But at moment when i sort of need one they are at there high end prices and most have been way cheaper.
The old one still works but it's matter of time when it will go no more.
I'm in the same position as you. Need one but waiting for the right deal.
I'm waiting for a deal on an LG. My mom has had one for over 10-years and been completely smitten with it. Bosch would be my last choice - hers broke w/in two years, and I hate Bosch as a brand in general. I used to have an Audi and I can't count the number of times the car crapped itself due to a Bosch component failing. Was initially keen on Samsung but reviews aren't great.
@Valjew: Lol that's that thought out the window was sort of set on bosch 8kg one on offer at gg.
But you sort of put me off, its weird as its rated 2nd best brand and the 7.5kg machine gets tons of reviews and most positive.
You said you need one but how soon our still works but for how long not sure just a matter of time before it breaks completely.
I have never really had a brand of anything bosch i always think of them as power tools and not ones i go for either.
You say your mum had lg for 10 yrs that's good but ones today will they last as long with more technical fancy things on them now, maybe more prone to more issues.
A repair guy did tell me go for lg as 10yr warranty but reviews on lg are worse than most brands and they are lower down list in best to worst.
Just curious what lg you was after?
The other replair man said bosch. So its everyone have there own choices. Im one minute set on one model or brand and then next at this rate i never get one.
But i think regardless of brand if an amazing deal come along i just grab it and take my chances..
Just wish there was a model that was ticking all the boxes but in saying that if one model was so popular and so good im sute the price would also go up.
Just curious what went wrong with your fridges?
it had a known issue with over frosting over the fan. i had 2 units which had the same problem. I was able to fix with parts twice. The 3rd time it died during xmas none of the spare parts places weren't open and it appeared it may have needed a new control board ( about $200) wasn't prepared to spend that much on parts on brought a new Westinghouse. That was 5 years ago and still going strong.
Ah right, was just wondering because my Samsung fridge from 2011 is still going strong without any maintenance, which is probably not too bad regardless of brand. Think i've been lucky, i just grabbed it on a whim with no research whilst in Harvey Norman
They seem to have massive issue with their ice makers constantly freezing up every month - takes 1-2 hours to defrost this huge lump of ice, only for it to happen again a month later.
Luckily mine's pretty simple and has no ice maker but point noted for the future!
Never use the addwash. Mine broke in 1 month, the little door spring wasn't strong enough.
Luckily samsung replaced the entire door and working great ever since.
So what you're saying is yours was faulty, it's been fixed and it's been fine since? So, why caution others not to use it?
My Addwash machine is 6 months old and I use the Addwash function every couple of loads when I forget something and all fine so far.
How could the addwash door break unless you're cramming shit in and overfilling it which would cause so many other issues?
My issue with my machine is i don't feel confident doing a full load because it has torn some of my clothing.
Just bought the new Bosch serie 4 8kg from Good Guys Commercial for $740 + delivery. Might be a good alternative for some.
Which model number is that please?
WAN24120AU
Thank you
Do they have a discount on the Series 8, 9kg one?
$1388 for the WAW28620AU
What do you think of your machine happy good buy? What did you have before. Im thinking this or the 7.5kg model.
I had an LG 10 or 12kg before so I had to get used to the smaller capacity of the Bosch. It also heats the water internally, so only connects to the cold water tap. It’s a bit noisier than the LG, but priced well in comparison.
Also anyone know if the overall outside size of the 7.5kg and 8kg is different or same. And why does 7.5kg have so much reviews where as 8.0kg has very little.
The 8kg is the newer model
But there are a few 8kg bosch models how do i know when a model came out.
@bwatt72: Series 4 8kg is the new one. The others are older models but higher spec
@DryScissors: How are the older ones higher spec what do they have thats higher spec?
As for he 8kg model we are not getting mixed up with the 8kg model from good guys as they have an exclusive which is 8kg but costs more and was on offer but still was to pricey for me.
If we are not talking about exclusive from gg then this other 8kg how can the 7.5kg be higher spec its only 1100 rpm where as 8kg is 1200 and also has couple of other things i have forgot already.
@bwatt72: I meant that there may be serie 6 or 8 models that are 8kg
What's this good guys commercial you talk about?
Don't buy it mine lasted 6 weeks and the water pump stopped working. CPU fault 5 days for a technician to come out and recommend a replacement unit.
Bought a Bosch now happy af
Hopefully Samsung washing machines aren't catching fire any more.
They don't, but that doesn't mean you're getting a quality product.
that was only ever a few models in the top loader range, never the front loader range.
Have had Samsung's before, all had problems during warranty and then straight after and were not supportive that there product should be quality and last more than 2 years.
They may have changed, but be wary.from comments may are
What's with the flashy 'Addwash' feature? On both previous washers I've owned, you simply press the pause button, the machine pauses and unlocks the door and then you can add the socks and jocks you missed. No need for over-engineered frou-frou.
Yep, Bosch washers (ours is a Siemens so same thing) - you pause and add. And no it doesn't leak…
7.5kg AddWash™ Steam Front Load Washer - WW75K54E0UW - for $679.15 at Samsung GOV store + you can stack up with $50 sign-up coupon.
How do you get a gov account?
Same as .edu account - you’ll have to be a student or work for the government
Just ordered this last week from Samsung Partnership store for $607. The $50 coupon seems to be expired tho…
well…great job, mate! $607 is a very good price even without $50 coupon :)
I currently have a samsung front loader.. I can say that whilst its still going ok, I certainly won't consider another Samsung again.. On spin dry the vibration is appauling (This is even when making sure machine is totally level & also has rubber feet to help reduce the vibration). The machine has also developed a small leak around the seal on the front of it.. Thus far I've had the machine for about 5-6 years. Plus I hardly even use this machine
Funnily enough 2 years ago I purchased 2 x Aldi top loaders (10kg capacity) for my partners small business. These machine do at least 2 wash loads on a daily basis and they are still going strong. I also purchased a front loader from Aldi for the business and that started having issues within 12 months. suffice to say I've not had any good experience with Front loaders for duability overall.
Is $679 a good price for LG WV5-1275W with delivery and old one removal? Just did a deal with Harvey Norman. AI Direct Drive and Depth of 530mm.
Searched this forum on washing machine extended warranty and its not talked about that much.
I wonder what the % is on people buying extended warranty these days more so on a $1000 machine that is highly rated.
Obviously there are risks in not having but items of that cost or above should be covered longer even if one brand company thinks its the best.
My current fridge and washing machine never had any and lasted beyond any extended warranty but maybe i was lucky.
looks fancy af
