I have a similar ozito hedge trimmer. It struggles to cut branches more than approx 0.5cm thick.
So what else is recommended for branches thicker than 0.5cm ?
you'd be better off with a pruning saw or a chainsaw for actually cutting down small trees. This is to trim and shape small hedges of their leaves and really small branches.
My Neighbour was using his brand new Bosch Hedge trimmer and it wouldn't cut through it. I lent him my Black and Decker $15 chorded trimmer from Kmart/ Big W (cant remember). Went through it like butter. He was delighted..yet devo! My old GMC also had no issues. The teeth on the Bosch were far too small.
Nice. Have you seen any around lately? Struggling to find a cheapy one just to do the small courtyard out back.
Nah, not for a while. Could try eBay, cash converters, Facebook marketplace, gumtree. Pick it up and shake it. If it feel loose/ sloppy leave it .
I also found the Bosch Blower Vac for $87.50:
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07J3PBGJX/ref=ppx_yo_d…I have the Ryobi 18V which I would never recommend as it cost me at the time a fair bit more. Reviews of the Bosch look good.
How about this one? Only AUD49.00
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-2400w-3-in-1-electric-blow…Hey Mysterybox,
I saw that but have never bought any Ozito products to know how good they are for the price. I do have a few Bosch items and I have found even the cheap Bosch is pretty good for home use.Do you have any Ozito and how would you rate them?
That $49 Ozito one has plastic blades, so the mulching isn't great. The $99 Ozito one has metal blades and some accessories, it's much better for mulching but double the price of course.
This Bosch $87.50 unit on Amazon appears to be plastic blades so might have similar issues to the $49 Ozito, don't have any personal experience though. Some comments on Amazon:
What is the impeller made from plastic or metal
Answer:It is made of plastic, breaks up light leaves but battles with plane leaves

It is made of plastic.

It’s made of plastic, but it is quite tough.
On my last ALS25, the motor bearing failed after 8 yrs but the impeller was still good.

It's made from plastic. I have sucked up small soft plastic and it's fine, however I wouldn't recommend doing that continuously as I imagine it'll wear the part out fast
By Mr_K on 4 April 2019Edit: 3 Year warranty on the Ozito at Bunnings so keep your receipt safe and take a photo of it as well.
Thank hamza23. That is very useful info.
@MickBubba: Thank you! Looks like Ozito $99.00 version is much better option of all.
Thank you!
Can I cut down small trees with this?
