Need an acct to view prices. Fail.

  • I like the idea but don't know when the borders will open up again…. Would suck to make a booking a few months in advance and then find out at the time that the border is closed.

Are the parks any good? I'm used to going to Tokyo Disneyland/sea, Universal Studios Osaka, etc. but when I look at the park maps they seem a bit smaller in scale. I don't think the kids would particularly mind, it may keep them entertained for half a day before naptime.

I have stayed using this same deal for the last 3 years in a row and kids love it! Movie World suits teenagers, Sea World is great for younger kids (most extreme ride suits primary age kids). Its nice staying onsite, and wondering over to watch a dolphin show of an afternoon, or go on certain ride, then return to pool area (half priced drinks if you time it right).

    • It's cheap…this is ozbargain.

  • 7 days non refundable. No thanks.

Sea World, what sea? It’s Pool World.

been there last Dec w/ kids, room was kind of old, AC was not powerful enough, running w/ noise at all time… wouldt recommand this resort, better look for somewhere else

No way, Anastacia Palaszuck will not allow this to happen. 😆

She's probably won't be around after 31 Oct.

most likes will by gone by november.

  • Might as well bet the money on the horses.

  • I wonder how covid will affect rides etc.

1.5 m distancing etc might really slow down access or on the other hand, there might be less people allowed in the parks.

A bit of a risk for that reason

  • Few people I know who have stayed at sea world resort say it's a dump

Stayed at sea world a few times it's pretty avg but very convenient

Rooms are very old now, needs a massive refurbishment

  • 60% of the park is closed for renovations due to them building new rides.

I'd wait till late 2021 till it's complete. We managed to complete sea world in 2.5 hours.

Better off putting the money into Soul peppers.

2020 and people still enjoy looking at incredibly intelligent cetaceans trapped in tiny pools, being exploited purely for profit? OK.

    • You must be heaps of fun at parties!

      • +2

It is a valid point though. Especially those shows at Sea World.

They do a lot of rescue missions. Good for kids to see and learn about animals.

          • +2

@Logical: Better for kids to see and learn about animals in the wild where they belong. Dolphins often travel in excess of 100km in a day in the wild and have complex social circles. I'm a marine ecologist and whilst I specialise in elasmobranchs, I work as a guide on whale boats over the season and believe kids get a much better education and sense of excitement from seeing the animals as they should be.

Wow. Lots of sea world hate. If it’s not for you, don’t book. It comes with entry to all the theme parks, one of which is attached to the hotel.

Use this as a base, and go explore. We’ve been going up each December and my kids love it. Hopefully it will be less busy this December!

Yep. Sleep in the accommodation and enjoy all the other awesome benefits! Excellent value if you were to pay for all amusement park entry seperately.

    Daily Dolphin Discovery show

I'm no greenie vegan but surely the days of using animals in shows should be in the past.

I went to a neighbourhood dog show last year. Was entertaining and the dogs seemed all so very happy.

      • Woof!

      • Is that like a Mexican donkey show?

  • Same old deal. Wish there were real tourism bargains and I would happily support Australian tourism operators.

Agreed, this was cheaper last winter, additionally, fewer services are available. I have been looking for local deals, and all the hotels are still the same prices as usual. Not worth the bother will just stay at home.
I would love to see some real last minute discount deals or even decent mystery hotel offers.

      • Cheaper? ive paid more then this last year. Can you link to the cheaper version? Its been over $1k for the last 12 months.

        • Last winter was 199 for 2 nights

          • +1

@Skellysgirl: Sure. Ive been booking this for December holidays the last few years, and it hasnt been this cheap in a while.

            • @Scorn: Yeh Dec is summer and much more expensive. I was there last Dec and paid towards 1500 for 4 days. I remember a few deals last winter, I though 199 for a 2-day visit, I could swear i saw the deal on here. This is the closest I could find. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/457725
