  • I briefly heard an ad on the radio on the way to work this morning saying they are having a one day sale on Thursday so might be worth hanging out for, might not be…

  • +2

also available at bunnings for same price if easier to get to.

  • What's the bosche eco system of tools like compared to other brands? Are batteries easily swappable?

    • +1

yes, and you can get lots of skins cheap via ebay. Not as cheap as ozito brushless in the long term but bosch gives 6 yrs warranty and after market batteries readily available from 3rd parties …..

was considering this bosch set as a cheap way to add another eco system to my toolkit ….have makita, ozito and aldi einhall (1/2” drive impact) all i need is bosch and dewalt …..who needs to collect pokémon when you can collect cordless tool ecosystems “ gotta catchem all”

      • As someone who has no tools yet and looking to build my toolkit, do you reckon go with this or brushless ozito? Ozito seems to go on sale quite often and I'm only really going to use it for home DIY.

        • Ozito will be fine for that purpose and you'll get more tools/skins for you buck. A big plus is they're very easy to swap out if it breaks in the warranty period. Walk in to Bunnings and walk out with a new one.

Ozito and Ryobi also have the advantage of having reasonably priced garden power tools if you need them.

        • +1

ozito brushless (not brushed) …..sometimes batteries go cheap and they are always adding more brushless skins ….

i also have makita because they had brushless skins when ozito didn’t, but find the ozito brushless great value and lots of power.

    • Pretty sure Bosch Blue and Green are not interchangeable. Bosch Blue is an awesome brand for tools. I’d put it up there with DeWalt and above Makita.

  • Can this be used to drill concrete?

    • occasional picture hook yes, but you wouldn’t want to drill 10x 10mm holes 50mm deep for dynabolts with it, for lots of concrete holes you want a rotary hammer for concrete so that is another $250 bosch skin in brushed motor.

rotary hammer is $190 ozito brushless skin.

    This Drill:

    home/diy use: Good but not great as Bosch Blue Eco system is designed for trade and they are not successful so far, Ryobi will give you the best return in terms of skin variety and costs;

trade: you must be kidding me…don't do it unless you are already stuck with Bosch Blue Eco system…

    • I have this drill and a Milwaukee kit, in all honesty, for the price this thing holds its own.

got one for the hammer drill and its brushless. 6yrs warranty when you register online. good for my mini diy projects around the house and drilling to regular concrete walls.

though like some other who have mentioned, if you want a variety of gadgets to fit one battery, this might not be the one, but hey, for a $179 brushless hammer drill 18v with a 5ah batt and 6yrs warranty, its hard to give it a miss.

  • Got one of this from Bunnings. Bunnings just finished this promotion early this week.

  • Actuality this set is costs $548 if you buying each its item separately:
    Description
    1 x Bosch 18V Brushless 13mm Hammer Drill Skin GSB 18V-60 C 0615990J9U $279
    1 x Bosch 18V 5.0Ah Lithium-Ion Battery 1600A001Z9 $160
    1 x Bosch 18V 4.0Ah Battery Charger GAL 18V-40 1600A019RN $109

And this is BRUSHLESS HAMMER Drill!

    Bought it, can't resist.
