Free Loan, not a gift etc , plus you will have to fill it up…. no deal nice gesture.

FYI: most places will give you free loans of equipment. eg fridges at cafee's etc and as a requirement you stock their stuff.

  • ah… here's a deal where for a change you get to give this to someone else (unless you are a canteen manager). Would love this to be OzBargained :) Who knows we could even have a host of new canteens sprouting up.

I wanted one for my house

    • +1

      same

    • I'd increase my daily milo intake tenfolds just to have one.

Looks good, but digging deeper shows you have to use their sachets and branded cups. Not such a good deal then.

That means this deal should NOT be categorised under FREEBIE, since it requires a purchase…

i don't think any schools should be promoting sugary chocolate drinks to kids…

    • better than sugary energy drinks, at least this has milk in it…

      • They typically have 150% the kj and are drunk in the same quantity so it winds up making them fatter faster (good for witches with large ovens) and increases their sugar dependency.

        • +1

I always wonder with when people say "oh high sugar makes you fat etc." Dont kids USE a lot of energy? Ok I mean if you kid sits in front of the telly all day then maybe this drink isnt for you but if your kid is playing sports etc, whats wrong with milo? and sugar dependancy? everything has sugar in it, it is vital to life.

        • still wouldnt have the 10 spoonfulls of sugar in coke though! can imagine even if milo was 100% sugar, you only put 1 teaspoon/tablespoon in your drink.

So's salt. So's vitamin A (maybe not everything has it but it IS vital).

Too much of either will kill/harm you, though.

wouldnt have the 10 spoonfulls of sugar in coke though!

Sugar in coke: 12g/100mL (~190kJ/100mL total)

          Sugar in Milo (15g with 200mL of 0.1% FAT milk)*: 17.3g/100mL (305 kJ/100mL total)

          * http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/5049/milocxz.jpg

That's not to say that Coke is gods gift to nutrition but more that neither is milk flavoured with Milo. It's something to be served at home, as a treat at best.

Of which how much sugar comes from Milo?? 6.9g. The rest comes from the milk. That's right, 10.4g from MILK!! WOW! Better stop drinking milk as well…

Seriously, comparing Milo to Coke is retarded. Nutritional content from one is way above the other. I certainly know that if my kids came and asked if they could have a Milo at school I'd be much happier than if they asked for a Coke…

Not that you'd make that decision without comparing the two… :)

I didnt say OD on it, the OP comment was sugar dependancy. We ALL have a sugar dependancy was my point.

Spare our school tuckshops from Nestle dependency.

PS I see Ryan Toohey quoted the same reference above which I appear to have missed.

  • looks cvool as

  • 'gotta be made of milo' :P

Fair enough you have machines to make coffee, mix up icecream, or deep fry chips. But when you need a machine to mix milk and powder thats getting a bit lazy.

Plus what kid would buy the same milo they get at home? Probably the same ones that buy fruit from the canteen.

  • +2

Sugarry and fattening drinks like these should not be available from the school canteen. Despite the marketing, Milo is definitely NOT healthy!

  • +1

Maybe Nestle should put one of those Bizz Buzz frankensalespersons on the machine's screen, thus combining two unhealthy promotions. :P

    • +1

You really hate children, don't you? That'll give them nightmares! :)

      • Hey, if it scares them away from the sugar, that's a good deed. LOL!
