  • How well do these integrate with Google Home

    • Received mine today. I don't have Google Home. I do have am Echo Show 8 and works really well.

      • +1

That was quick. When did you order?

        • Yesterday. I'm in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne and it was posted from from Tullamarine, so maybe that helped.

          • +1

@ben10k: Lucky you, mine posted on Monday, I live 2 suburbs away from the supplier and my tracking is saying delivery Thursday/Fri, Auspost are a joke.

  • Are people buying wired or wireless doorbell?
Watched the review posted by asa79 but still couldnt decide.

    • +3

Wireless is better for following reasons:
      - Has battery which can work up to 6 months with one charge.
      - Can be wired too
      - Comes with Home Base 2 which later on you can add cameras to it.

      • Thanks!!
Curious how to hard wired them.
Havent found any video to do it.

        I'll go with wireless then.

is it correct, the Home Base only works if it is LAN-cabled to our router?

        • No, you can connect it over wifi 2.4ghz too

Now I know why OzBargain members hate some brick and mortar stores. Went into JB HiFi Gepps Cross and tried to get the guy to price match and he didn't even try. Wasn't interested in a sale at all.

    • Similar experience at JB homesglen after someone on the phone asked to come in-store. Total waste of time. In fact the person ridiculed the price and the anker website.

      • +1

Tried price match with JB. Apparently they don't have stock and all are back ordered.
Try their website, it'll give you late July/early August estimated delivery time.

        • Gepps Cross had them in stock. Judy didn't want to price match. Serves me right for not just buying online. No wonder stores are closing.

          • @YellowKnight: That’s weird. I got my video doorbell price matched at JB Gepps cross a few days ago

            • @superjquando: It wasn't on the shelf so the guy said they had no stock. I told them the website said they had stock. He checked the computer, yeps out the the back. I asked if he could price match, he Googled it, found it, then said nope, they don't price match websites.

              • @YellowKnight: What a joke. The guy didn’t even check the website, just asked what price it was listed for. Went out the back and got the stock. No issues

              • @YellowKnight: Hi mate,

I managed to get it priced matched today at JB Gepps Cross. Maybe you should try again?

        • Yeah homesglen VIC definitely had stock.

          • @pramki: Credit where it’s due. Brighton VIC JB HIFI matched price today.

            • @pramki: JB Hi-Fi Website actually has it advertised for $239 now. Picked one up yesterday afternoon.

              • @Bingokid: Link? It's still showing as $349.

                • @YellowKnight: Sorry my mistake the flood light is down to $239 at JBHIFI. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/eufy-smart-floodlight-wit…. Thats what I picked up. Website was saying no stock but in store they did have a couple. Had no stock of wireless doorbell Wollongong JBHiFi.
I did get the wireless door bell price matched early yesterday at Warrawong JB HIFi. First person I spoke too said no to price match(local stores only). Second person said yes as per the conditions on their website. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/what-is-the-jb-hi-fi-price-m….

                  • @Bingokid: Hence back to my original point where now I understand why people buy online compared to the big chain stores that already make huge profits.

                    • @YellowKnight: I understand. I feel guilty sometimes buying online but when one store has different opinions on price matching it sucks. The bloke at jbhifi said he didn’t make any commission on that sale but hoped I came back again. Anaconda has an excellent price match policy that is straight forward and never had a problem in that store.

  • Would I be able to receive notifications / alerts on 2 phones (my wife's and mine) from the doorbell or does it link to a single phone only?

    • +2
      1. You download the Eufy Security app.
      2. You create an account.
      3. You set-up the device via the app and connect to your home network.
      4. Once all set, using the app, you can share the device to your wife.
      5. Repeat steps 1 to 3 on your wife's phone.
      6. On your wife's phone, accept the invitation from yourself.
      7. Make sure notification is on to get alerts.

      Hope this helps.

You don't need to do all that. Just set it all up on one phone, then install the app on second phone and login with same account. Easy… both will get notifications.

  • Does anybody know if Eufy updated the firmware to fix the 2 way recording ? according to Lifehackster's review this was not working when only recording the camera's side of the conversation.

  • Hey guys, bought the eufy 2c wireless cameras from last month's supercheap auto sale.
Where would best be to purchase an add-on camera?
MyAnker or JB Hi-Fi/Officeworks? I found it for $188ish across all those sites.. Thanks!

  • Has anyone who is not in Victoria received their order yet? I'm really amazed how VIC orders came through so quickly but mine seems so slow.

    • Mines being delivered today in Perth. Seems to have been sent via air.

      • When did you order? Mine has stated Victoria for the past 3 days.

        • Last Monday 15/6/20. Last tracking was also sitting in MELBOURNE AIRPORT VIC since the 16th.

  • Wow, I don't know what AusPost are doing but my parcel still says it's in VIC after ordering last Thursday. I ordered from Kogan on Thursday evening and the items ready to pick up. Who can I call to follow this up?

    • Everything is delayed these last few months. Less flights and more packages being sent, I'd hate to be working in the distribution centres. East coast to Perth is taking over a week towards two weeks for me. Tracking is also often not accurate, myself and others report packages being scanned in and then not seen for a week then suddenly on for delivery.

      • Did you get yours yesterday? How are you finding it?

        • Yep, and I haven't mounted it yet but my initial testing is great, works very well. Haven't tested geofencing to put the "system" into away mode as I don't want to get notifications of me walking in and out each day, only when I'm not home.

EDIT: Only issue which only one of the reviews I saw said was that it doesn't keep recording after you answer the doorbell which is a bit stupid.

  • So how long have people had to wait generally for metro delivery? Ordered one yesterday.

  • Has anyone who has ordered and is from SA reveived their order yet? Mine has been stuck in VIC for days.

    • Same ordered Monday still in VIC

    • Any update on your order?

  • just installed mine today - quite good on the phone, but nest hub max seems to lag by a minute.

Happy with the purchase but a bit worried about theft, as anker don't have a theft replacement program (whereas nest, ring do)
