eufy X8 Robovac Smartvac T2261T11 $250 in-Store (Online Via Powerpass App) @ Bunnings Warehouse

100

Avoided Robovacs til now but grabbed an X8 on clearance at Bunnings to try out. Reviews/Ozb seemed reasonable enough to give one a crack.

Basic model - no mop or auto-empty dock.

If it keeps doing what it did today I'll be happy. Mapped out 50 sqm in 53mins and used about 35% battery. Was able to integrate it into Home Assistant.

Seems to be going for about $400 elsewhere.

  • Please link to the product, not screenshot

    • I tried, only my Powerpass app would show the item page. Ozb offers pic uploads though so I went with that sorry.

Although an admin may have ditched my pic for a non existent page. Not sure that's better than my screenshot.

      • Don't apologise, people need to chill

        • Agreed, people on here take OZB WAYYY too serious.

Don't worry, your map will randomly decide it doesn't exist anymore, every few weeks and every other software function will degrade over time, after the warranty period, like a poor phone battery.

    • For the price that works for me.
Any others worth checking out for the same money ?

      • I have the eufy L60 (bought about a month ago). I imagine the app and the lidar mapping is similar to the X8. I haven't had any issues with maps disappearing. I did move the base station after the initial mapping and it still often thinks it's starting at the old start location (although this week the base station was showing in the new position). Dunno… it moves out of the station and then positions itself anyway, so it knows where it is.

Given the moving parts in robovacs, I imagine there will always be issues over time. This is one of the reasons why I stayed away for so long - it seemed more like a gimmick.

However, having used my L60 multiple times now and even trusted it to do its thing whilst I was out of the house yesterday, I am very much sold. If it cuts down a the majority of the dust build up on my floors and saves me having to spot vacuum between the big cleans, then that's a win.

And if you got the X8 at $250 I think you've done well. I got my L60 for $500.

        • My joint's a dust magnet as there's industrial, landscaping and concrete batcher nearby so anything will help.

It might be a saving grace that I only have one spot to put the dock lol

@scottb721: Maybe also try an air purifier with a decent HEPA filter and washable pre-filter?

    • My maps didn't disappear, but the whole map did get misaligned on a regular basis (like rotated at 20° or moved a few metres). This resulted in either it missing spots or sometimes getting stuck down a hallway because the map rotated while it was in a room, so it thought there was a wall in the way and couldn't get back to the dock.

Nothing in the software degraded at all, though the first battery didn't last as well as it should of.

The robot cleans quite well, and when the navigation works it is good, but it is a bit temperamental.

The X8 Pro is heaps better - but it isn't $250. For $250 this is probably one of the better vacs out there.

  • Broken link brah

Recommend calling stores first, the 3 I tried that said they had stock didn't have them.
