This is the 6th generation. The 7th generation was introduced yesterday. Compare the specs and see whether it is worth saving $50. The online Apple Store also has free shipping.
What are the differences? I can't find the compare page.
I though the 7G is only a firmware update and any 6G units can update as well…I believe that is the case. Its pretty much the 6g with new watchfaces and price drop according to this article http://tnerd.com/2011/10/04/ipod-nano-7g-price-is-already-sh…
The new nano apparently doesn't even have a product code change. Not sure if there might be say, a "B" instead of an "A" at the end, but essentially it's the same hardware.
other than a nike pedometer thing, 6th and 7th are exactly the same…. the software update now available makes a 6 virtually identical to the 7 now. new icons, watch faces…. nice revamp.
The way I'd figure it is, the 7G hasn't been released yet, it's just an update.
The old one had a pedometer as well, the new just has few more features that you get when you update. The software update makes the "old" nano to be exactly the same as the new one.

ditto! pretty dodgy site imo, it's not mentioned anywhere on the heading or the short description underneath the timer….trying to "hide" the word "refurbished" in the 2nd paragraph to catch those that skim reads the detailed description.
if people interested, there is a refurbish section on official apple website, maybe they are selling this same product too with similar prices.

yep… as much as i hate apples control tactics, its just too damn easy to have everything all in one product that works so well. damn you apple.
plus, no way i'm copying all my cds into the pc again…. too easy to just stay put in itunes.
