Great price!! Ipod watch here I come.

  • Sold!

  • I bought one last week. Pretty good deal. Plenty of stock in the Perth store.

  • +3

This is odd, not available in Sydney, but Darwin has a store, and other cities.

    • Because there isn't a JR/Duty Free in Sydney?

      • +6

For a guy named Ace, you're not very bright. Lol.

Herp. James Richardson Duty Free don't operate/manage/have any part in the Duty Free stores located at Sydney Airport. The Nuance Group operate ALL Tax & Duty Free stores in Sydney. Hell it's even mentioned on the JR site that they sold their Australian division to Nuance in 1995 and later came back 10 years later and over the course of 3 years from 2005, opened the 5 stores they currently still have operating in Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne and Perth.

And heh… I'm not even going to bother commenting on your name other then to say good luck with your relationship.

  • Perfect timing…

  • Going to pick one up for the car, $99 seems good as

  • Keep in mind that these Nano 6th gen are plague with battery life issues. You'd be lucky to get more than a few hours worth of listening time. So please keep that in mind :)

    • Going to have it plugged into the car, so battery won't be an issue for me, great price~

      • Mine doesn't charge through the ipod connector we have in the car (fully installed), lasts about 4 hours of non-stop music/radio for me

  • Spend 80 more and you get iPod Touch 8GB.

    • +3

Not too sure if I'd want to wear the Touch as a watch :). In case you didn't know, the Nano 6th gen is suitable for a watch conversion, with a kit such as Tiktok or Lunatik or iWatchz (currently selling for $24.95 @ NextByte).

      • I didn't know that.. but just did a search. I might pick up one of these too. Cheers!

      • eBay has cheap ones under $1 as well

        Link—> HERE

        • Cheers for that issh.

      • Yeah i seriously cannot see the use as a watch.. Very uncomfortable to have the cable running from your wrist, unless you run it up your sleeve.
Then again it'll be flying everywhere if you use it for jogging

        • That and a normal watch's battery last for years…this one will get you through a day. I don't see the point, if you want to be able to tell the time get a normal watch. The only real use might be while jogging or whatever but every iPod under the sun has some form of arm attachment and to avoid the cable swing you mentioned having it higher up on the arm makes more sense anyway.

It's a good MP3 player but its a bad watch.

        • it's not a watch. it is just a cool pretend watch

        • -6

Jogging with your iPod is just as dangerous as crossing road with headphones on. High chance of death

        • not a very good mp3 player either. Capacitive touchscreen on a tiny screen is not worth it without the other features the one before this one had.

In fact the ipod brand is not famous for it's quality of music, that would be cowon that has possibly the best file support and SQ.

The only good ipod worth having would be the touch and I'll still be waiting for the Zune HD2 if it gets announced soon

Not a good watch. It's too bulky, none of the straps I've tried get that snug fit.

And the device itself is not waterproof so even the mildest rain can set off the water damage detector, giving Apple an excuse to refuse your warranty.

  • This price is cheap compared to the RRP.

I recently got one of these Nano's. It works fine but I'm thinking of selling it because the screen is small and annoying, the buttons for volume seem to be in the wrong place, overall it just seems really fiddly to use. Not a fan of this model so far.

  • By my calculations (and I'm no calculator), the GST inclusive price would be $109.90.

    • $99 + 10% = $108.90, and thats what I got charged.

      • Oh you're right, sorry I'm a spaz ;)

        • +8

          Clearly you're not a calculator

        • -6

          obvious non-calculator is obvious

    • I would say $110.

Well you really got a bargain then, extra $1.10 off

  • just to note you cant use the ipod whilst it is charging, never tried this in the car though, just from experience charging it on my pc via usb

    • +2

What you can do when you're charging it via PC, is just 'Safely Remove' it, but still keep the device connected. It will still keep charging and you can use it at the same time.

  • which iPod Nano 8gb is this?

    • +1

      double post. 6th gen

  • +4

IMO the 5th gen nano was the best of the bunch, 6th gen feels like a step backward. Thought it was the new shuffle when I first saw it.

  • Shouldn't that sign technically have a GST inclusive price as well?

    • No, if there is an expectation that your customer is able to purchase without GST or claim an input credit then goods can be advertised ex GST, in the case of a duty free store thats a resonable expectation.

      • Ah okay
Thought they had to advertise with GST no matter what. I remember walking into a duty free store with both prices on the label on the shelf for every item.

  • Hey, does anyone know until when this offer last? Also, is there anyway to claim the GST back or obtain it for 99 dollars? Thanks

    • Go overseas and claim it back. your only choice

      • You can claim back the GST only if you fly out within 30 days of purchasing the goods.

        • A GST refund through that method would require a min purcase of $300. For this price uneed to buy Duty Free

    Confirmed for Adelaide!

    • Got one from Adelaide. Thanks.

  • +1

Didn't get one, but Melbourne's got them at 99 as well. Had about 20 in the display cases, green, pink, silver and one other colour (blue?)

  • Bought 6 today, there were black, blue, green, pink, silver in perth store. Confirm they have loads of stocks.

    • Broden…?

      j/k!
