Original Samsung SSD Cashback on Multiple Models @ Samsung

OnLineComputer.com.au is a division of OnLine Centre Pty Ltd established in 1999.

OnLine Centre Pty Ltd is a participating reseller of the Samsung promo, and the cashback is advertised on the website listing too.

With the current Samsung promo, there's $19 cashback, effectively making the drive $90 $80.95 if you can pick up from its Sydney Haymarket store. I got quoted $7.81 for shipping to NSW metro address. (Update 18/06/20: price drop!)

Looks like OnLine Computer has matched BudgetPC's price for 1TB, $199 ($165 $195 ($161 after $34 Samsung CashBack). So good for those in NSW. (Updated pricing, thanks Caped Baldy )

250GB, Part Number: MZ-76E250BW, Samsung V-NAND, 2.5". 7mm, SATA III 6GB/s, R/W(Max) 550MB/s/520MB/s, 98K/90K IOPS, 5 Years (or 150 TBW) Warranty

OnLine Computer is offering free shipping for the 250GB too, which is weird as no free shipping for other sizes. Likely it is price matching CentreCom's 250GB.
$87.95, so $76.95 after the $11 Samsung Cashback

EDIT: they jacked up the price =S (hopefully some people was able to get one before they did that) Back to $109 (Thanks kanu12345678 =) )
EDIT 2: Added 1TB, which matched BudgetPC's price
EDIT 3: Updated the price drops and added 250GB

Not too far off the price I paid nearly one year ago $80 after cash back. Good deal for this drive.

  • Price comes up as $117.95 (SAVE 53%) Did they change the price?

    • They changed the price =S

      • Does the cash back come out of their pocket lol? Kind of weird haha

        • Nope, the cashback is from Samsung. They are increasing price to increase their own margin.

          So, just business.

          • @zrmx: Well that changes everything. Hence them losing a sale from possibly most of the ozbargainers out there. Unless they still are the cheapest then its just smart business

            • @Mozzlah: They are still cheaper, but by only $1.05. Considering Centre Com is doing $119 but with free shipping to most metro areas, its competitor is better in both price and reach.

I suppose they decide the better margin just worth the loss of some sales.

              • @zrmx: Sure congrats to them but if its only $1.05 more with free shipping would rather do centrecom as I would most likely get $5 off the total when adding in shipping from this company. Each to their own though

price on their website is showing as $117.95…

  • $205 for the 1TB doesn't seem too bad.

BudgetPC and Kraken Power PC(website sucks) both have it for $199 + delivery or pick up. Both are based in vic.

Has anyone seen any better deals?

    • Centrecom at $206 including shipping (to Metro) is the closest

    Back to $109

  • Is crucial mx500 the better option?

    • Samsame although 1tb mx500 was $179 on Amazon not that long ago. I’m talking specs wise.

The 860 EVO is generally considered the better option, both benchmark and warranty wise. However, you won't notice the difference between the two in real life usage, so they are generally considered to be practically similar.

But if the 860 EVO and MX500 are at the same price, I'd pick the 860 EVO. Otherwise I'd just go for the cheaper one.

In this case the cheapest MX500 500GB is $95 from Amazon, so I'd go for the 860 EVO (as I can pick up in Sydney NSW…although even if posted, it's just $2.81 more than the MX500, after accounting postage and cashback, if you're in NSW. However, one may make the difference more like $5 if paying with discounted Amazon AU gift card). But TL;DR, not much difference.

    • use both, not much difference but if u download or tranfer something heavy around 300gb, samsung has better speed

how do you get the cashback?

Should we wait for the eBay discount?

  • TLC. Now we're talking.

Centrecom product review has a lot of negative reviews? Makes me wonder why Ozbargain promote deals on such dodgy companies?

Ah that says it all…my suspicion was right. Making so much sense now.

  • 'I got quoted $7.81 for shipping'

do you reckon they could be bargained down to $7.80 for shipping ?

    • I would guess not, but it'll be great if you can give it a go and report back =)

  • I'd be interested but I've already got one of these - in this laptop now …

I'd be interested to swap one into my partner's laptop - but that job would be a PITA, so no …

  • What would be the best external case to use with this for a 2014 Retina iMac which supports USB 3 and Thunderbolt 2 but not USB C?

(By "best" I mean a balance between cheap, reliable and reasonable performance… not the absolute Rolls Royce option…)

  • Great deal thanks OP, anyone know of any QLD based stores with free C&C just to save on delivery?

  • They don’t accept paypal payment for pick up 🤔

  • Hey, are these guys still taking orders only to say they're "Out of Stock", and then take ages to refund?

    • Hmmmm, I guess better to call up to see if they've got stock if concerned.
